How did you tip your vendors?

Erika, on May 23, 2021 at 9:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 9
Our wedding is in 3 months, I am trying to figure out how much I would be spending on tips.💲💲💲

How much did you do and which vendor got tipped? Or did you tip all of them? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wait until after the honeymoon when you are able to assess all services with an objective mind. Don’t tip for no shows, bad service or simply showing up to do their job. Only tip those who went above and beyond the call of duty. Deliver tips at that point to best vendors, and write honest reviews on all platforms, if the service was good or bad.

First, you want to make sure which vendors already include the tip in their cost of services. Anything more would mean they went well above and beyond your expectation. Just be careful not to confuse a "service charge" with tip. Most vendors will have a separate line calling out the tip or will specifically say tip is NOT included.

After that, I've seen recommended amounts between 10-20% of the cost of service. Tips are usually given at the end of their services, so you may want to give specifically labeled envelopes to your wedding planner or a trusted person since you will be busy with all the festivities.

    Hope this helps!

I plan to tip all my vendors between 10%-20%, unless they do a terrible job or the tip is included in the contract already. I used this site as a guideline: https://www.herecomestheguide.com/wedding-ideas/tip-wedding-vendors

Hi Erika! Tips aren’t expected, but if you think your vendors did an amazing job you could always give an additional tip. Make sure to also leave a detailed and glowing review of their service! 🌟

-Photographer is self-employed and this is her weekend job. I won't be tipping her.

-My caterer has a built-in 20 percent tip in their contract. I have confirmed that the tips will be distributed to the employees.

-Bartender wants to set up a "tip jar", which I have no problem with.

My wedding band is asking to be fed. So that's 5 of them @ $45/head through the catering company. Should i also tip on TOP of that expenditure? And yes, I am paying them their normal fee for the wedding.

    Thx!!
