How did you find your officiant?

I am having the hardest time even knowing where to look to find an officiant to marry us when my wedding comes! My FH and I have decided on a secular ceremony so a church officiant doesn't work for us. We are getting married in a smaller town so there are not that many people show up on a google search and even less when I start looking for someone that can do a non religious ceremony. I don't know anyone that is ordained and no one that would be willing to get ordained to marry us. Where and how did you find your officiant?

    There’s lots of officiants on wedding wire who will do your ceremony however you want it, I found mine on here

    Ask the the other vendors you’ve hired. We asked our invitation designer, photographer, florist and videographer for recommendations. And any officiant who was not available we asked them for recommendations as well. Hang in there, you’ll find the right person soon enough!

    I know you said that you don’t know anyone willing to get ordained to marry you, but not sure if you know getting ordained online literally takes less than 5 mins lol. Not sure if that’s legal in your state or if you’d want to do it, but I just wanted to make sure you knew how easy/low effort it was!

    We had a friend that did our ceremony. he is only ordained in NY so we did a small "legal" ceremony here then had our big ceremony out of state.

    We found ours through the Wedding Wire vendors. We love them so much and still hang out with them.

    I found ours by googling "wedding officiant". He has over 200 five star reviews on Google. He's now on WeddingWire too, but wasn't when we originally found him.

    Thanks all for the suggestions. WeddingWire doesn't have anyone listed in my area... I started there. But like I said, it's such an out of the way location everyone it lists is 80+ miles from us. I checked google too but it's also filled with 2star officiants that have gotten really nasty in the comments about their reviews. I just don't get a good feeling from someone like that.

    We used wedding wire. We are an interfaith couple but we found some great local officants on this site.
