How did you feel when you got your wedding photos?

HayMrsO, on January 8, 2019 at 4:35 PM Posted in Married Life 0 7

First I need to say that I love the pics. I think the photographer did a great job, so this is nothing against her at all.

We were very patient waiting for our pics. The holidays, etc. I totally understand why they took so long. I just got the very last of them this morning. I don't know why, but having all of these pics sent to me is giving me anxiety. I never expected to feel this way. Like, what do we do with 500 pictures? Should we create a Shutterfly album? But I really think I would like to be able to pull out a pic here and there and use them for something else. So do we print 4x6's of them and stick them into an album? Should we do some canvases? Or something else?

How did you decide and what did you end up doing?

Working on my pro-BAM now...it may take some time! Lol

I did a combination of it all. I made a Shutterfly album with 111 pages, so it held a lot of pictures. We had two of our favorites blown up on a canvas and one made into a split canvas, which turned out really cool. I also had about 60 printed so I can frame some whenever I feel like it. It all depends on what you feel like doing. You can’t go wrong with any of those choices.

Professional "back after marriage." Typically the bride or groom will share photos from their day and some advice from their experience for future couples.

I haven't even had the wedding yet and I'm having anxiety about this haha! This was one of my main arguments about maybe not getting a photographer (we did end up booking one) but what the heck are we going to do with 300+ photographs, I can't imagine there will be more than a handful that we would think about framing. that being said, I did LOVE going through my parents wedding album and always wished they had more pictures of that day

Know the feeling! Our photographer was incredibly fast with the turnaround, and I was so excited when we got them back! Popped the flash drive into my computer and 1,186 photos were on it! I've had my full photo set for a few months now and I'm STILL deciding what photos to print for ourselves! Smiley smile

What we did was upload all of them to a Flickr album (I've had it forever, so I just used that...but the point is, we uploaded the full set to a photo hosting site) and set it to private/unsearchable so the only way people could find our photos was if they were given the link. (Don't need my full album open to the world!) Our friends and family were given the link, and at their leisure they browsed, and if they saw a photo they wanted they just told us the number and we sent them the file.

We put together a few canvases and photo books for Christmas gifts, and eventually we will do a really nice book for us to have, but just haven't had the time quite yet lol.

I hated my wedding pictures! I had envisioned them and how lovely they would look, and the photographer did a horrible job! I am thinking of retaking them so that I can get a nice one printed into a canvas.

I used Artifact Uprising and made albums for my in-laws and my parents for xmas, and I am working on our album now. When I am done with that I am going to order large canvases of 2 of our favorites and a few 5x7 & 8x10's of our bridal party and family pics. I also uploaded all of them to an external hard drive and my Google drive for safekeeping. I didn't love the pics our photographer used in our online album and didn't like the idea of our friends & family having to buy pics from him, so I picked all of our favorites (400 out of 600 pics) put them in order and sent the link to my Google drive to our bridal party & parents. They can view and download as many pictures as they want, but they cannot edit the album or share it with anyone else.
