How Did You ask your bridesmaids?

Maybe I'm old fashioned? But "back in the day" a "proposal" was something really special and cause for celebration. Nowadays...EVERYTHING is a "proposal" and it has really taken away from the "specialness" and significance of what the groom shares with his bride.


Weddings used to be special events and now, with "proposals" and " themes" and photobooths, they are closer to high school dances or children's birthday parties....
I'm getting married in 24 days (yikes! So not ready!) I was so excited to announce our engagement, I used that opportunity to ask them if they would be in the wedding party right then.
I knew ahead of time that:A) they're out of state/country and will have to travelB) finances would be an issue so I cut back on my dress in order to buy theirsC) voluntarily chose to forgo showers and parties out of respect for their finances..so...no bridal shower and no Bachelorette party
And honestly, except for the one future SIL who screwed us both royally with her poor life choices and caused her children to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience, there has been no drama. 😁

I am working mine right now. I dont want them to feel obligated to yes just because I am made a box (especially being in a pandemic) So I also included a little book that lay out the details so they can make a sound decision

The ladies I chose are either overseas or on the other side of the country so I just sent a text
