How did you ask your bridesmaids??

How did you ask your bridesmaid to be your bridesmaids? Did you make them a box? Or a bottle of wine or a card?

I made boxes that included a bottle of wine with labels I got off of Amazon. Each box included slightly different items. It's definitely not necessary but I had fun putting them together!

I made a really cute box with goodies inside and a scratch off card.

I had no idea bridesmaid/MOH proposals were a thing! Originally, I was just going to casually ask them or maybe write them each a heartfelt card but after some research, I realized I could do better! Smiley smile I ended up making these boxes with some goodies inside. I just bought these boxes from the craft/fabric store, JoAnns (I've seen similar ones at Michaels too). I'm having a destination wedding in FL so I thought the tropical theme was fitting. I also found these luggage tags at Marshalls. I bought the tank top shirts at Target that say 'Maid of Honor' and 'Bridesmaid' (I bought one that says bride) and the customized wine labels on Etsy! It was really fun to put together and they all loved it! I tried to fill the box with stuff that I felt they would actually use and wouldn't get wasted. I have 2 MOHs and 3 bridesmaids.

I gave each of mine cards and then something else specific to them. I gave my SIL flowers, my roommate flowers and cinnamon rolls (MOH), the rest got pictures of things relevant to our relationship in the cards. I didn't want to go over the top, but I wanted to put a bit of thought into it as well.

Mine were all long distance but Matron of honor and best man made a trip down to visit us so we gave them a bottle of their favorite liquor that had a label on it asking them to be a part of the wedding. Every other BM got a card with a scratch off heart that asked them underneath it. Also wrote in the card why I valued their friendship.

I just asked them. They probably thought I was lame but it was just an expense I didn't want. To each their own.

I made a box. Each box costed me $10 to make. Silver box with scrolls and bow from dollar tree, pink crate paper from Michaels, mini bottle of barefoot moscoto champagne with pink ribbon, fun purple and pink straws I found at party city 6 for $1, a ghiradelli chocolate square, bridesmaid button, a keychain that said "squad", and a mini ultra shea thousand wishes body lotion from BBW. I printed from MS Word little half sheets that said will u be my bridesmaid Etc and used school glue to attach to inside of box lid. I did the groomsman proposal gifts too with small burlap sack each with a fabric no-sew bow tie I made and filled with a small bottle of crown royal. Guys and ladies went bananas and they weren't expecting it. We introduced our wedding party and gifted them last weekend at our engagement party. When I was asked to be a bridesmaid 2 years ago, my friend took us all to brunch and gave us similar boxes

A note to each about asking them (each one was slightly different to show the difference in relationships)

And a small little bracelet with a helm to help "guide" me lol that was it

Two I asked on the phone since they live out of town. One I asked in person with FH. The other was at the proposal so I turned to her and said "You are my maid of honor. For real!" She said "Yes I am!"

I made boxes, here's a pic! The wrapped item is the bridesmaids DVD and the item is the little bag are little travel hand scrubs that I am obsessed with. I forgot to tell them what they are and one of my bridesmaids ate one! Hahaha

Phone call. Anything more can pressure them into accepting, which can cause massive drama later on.

I just send them a message asking. I can't even call them due to being out of the country. I toyed with sending them something, but decided just to ask through text and I don't feel like I missed out on anything.
