How are you making your wedding 'yours'?

So I've read tons of posts and articles that suggest adding elements to your wedding to make it unique to you and yours. Likely, most people are doing this with color schemes and photos, what else are you doing? I don't want a cookie cutter wedding but I also don't want to over-do it with...

So I've read tons of posts and articles that suggest adding elements to your wedding to make it unique to you and yours. Likely, most people are doing this with color schemes and photos, what else are you doing? I don't want a cookie cutter wedding but I also don't want to over-do it with personalization and such.

As of right now, other than our color scheme, we are planning on using a blown up picture from our engagement shoot for our table assignment (faded photo with the table numbers with the name listed below or in alphabetical order) and getting a miniature figurine of our dog to add to our traditional 'Mr. & Mrs.' cake topper.

I want to add a little more. Mostly our hobbies and interests revolve around sports; we can't incorporate a specific team because we don't like the same ones!! Smiley xd Was thinking of trying to incorporate Italy (we both are Italian and have been to Italy and love it) but not sure how.

The other thing I was thinking was for our favors, do the 'His Favorite' 'Her Favorite' bags; he loves the old school Snow Caps chocolates and I love Sour Patch Watermelon.

Yard games are fun!! I was thinking about that because we are having a day time wedding; something to keep everyone busy just in case dancing isn't everyone's thing in the afternoon.

When we were house hunting we decided we couldn't afford a vacation so we had what I called "a summer of music" it ended up being a year of music and when all was said and done we probably could have taken multiple vacations, but it was worth it and we had so much fun and so many memories. And that was just 1 years worth. This year we've been to like 5 concerts already! We like live music.

We're having a Halloween themed wedding. Both of our birthdays are in October, we got opal wedding bands for our birthstones and it's our favorite holiday!

I love your candy bags ideas! We’re planning to have some of FH’s favorite candies on his groom’s table. I love anything sparkly and glittery so most everything for our wedding is glittery or shiny! My favorite thing I’ve bought so far is our toasting glasses! We’re both really big Alabama fans so to incorporate that, I got a Mr & Mrs cake topper with elephants on top (our actual one is pink). FH is a big hunter, fisher, and golfer so his cake will have all 3 on his groom’s cake. He’s also adding some Alabama and Atlanta Braves elements to his cake.

We are doing it on Halloween because we both love Halloween. We are having a black and white theme with a masquerade ball instead of having people dress up in costumes. Its classy but will stick to the Halloween vibe with a Trick-or-Treat candy bar, the black flowers, and masks for the guests. I am doing DIY things too. I am doing an old school polaroid camera for guests to take pictures of themselves in masks and sign to trade for their table tents. I have a coffin wooden box with skeletons on it that I am painting and making it the ring bearer box. I am also making a very unique card box out of different shaped paper mache boxes wrapped in different colored paper. I am also putting the masks for my bridesmaids inside their bouquets as well.

You can actually find (or order) Italian wedding cookies fairly easily! A pair wrapped up as a favor would be cute:

For our DW, we went with a "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed reception to play up our love of Disney and adventure! None of our guests had been in a wine cave before (neither had we) so choosing a venue in Napa that could be naturally "piratey" was amazing. Once we decided on this theme, my hubby was 100% on board making so many props and decor items. Both of us LOVED changing into pirate outfits for our reception. A fun themed reception was very us. For our local reception, we chose a swanky 50's/60's theme and asked for guests to dress up too (fantastic for photos). Our first year of living together we watched Mad Men, "Rat Pack" show in Vegas, mob movies, etc. Sharing this era theme with our friends seemed personal yet fun enough everyone could get into.

Im not intending to go out of my way to add personal touches to the wedding but they will be mixed in. We are doing a christian ceremony but having 1 Indian and 1 mexican tradition to incorporate both of our cultures. For the reception I am using used centerpieces but sprucing them up to fit my color scheme. I am really crafty and really good at decorating (im decorating the venues) so im sure my personal style will be seen throughout the decor. You have a cute idea for party favors!

Were doing a lot of personal stuff! Our welcome sign is going to be a digital drawing of us and our cat, our card box will styled like a British post box because we live in the U.K., our signature drink is named after our cat, were doing cupcakes so each one represents us (Scottish one, Boston one, and one inspired by the coffee dates we used to have) and our escort cards are laser cut into the shape of the bridge where we used to go on coffee dates. I think you can definitely incorporate personal touches like pictures, table names (I think we’re going to name them after whiskies) or songs in the ceremony, enterance or reception. Maybe have an Italian drink or dessert?

Insanely gorgeous, right??? It looks so natural, effortless and beautiful. I think greenery would be a lot less than florals too. I love this color palette so much but if you wanted a pop of another color: dusty blue, gray, blush or lavender, any pf those would fit in beautifully.

If my hubby & I ever take our official France honeymoon, I would love something similar (with a French twist) at my friend's house for a little French wedding reception. Rustic, with some herbs & plants.
