How are you handling seating for wedding staff

Sylvia, on June 28, 2019 at 11:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
Hi Everyone,

Quick question: How are you handling seating for wedding staff? Is it a regular table with rest of your guests or a table somewhere else in the venue?

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Our vendors ate a family style meal in a separate room of the venue. The rest of the guests had a multi course plated meal.

Our vendors didn’t eat with us. We pay vendor meals for all of them but I honestly never saw them eating. I know they did because I asked but I assume they are at a different part of the venue.

Most venues have an area where the vendors eat that is away from the guests. This way the vendors can truly take a break, relax and enjoy their food out of sight of the guests.

So I had an extra table and just let them all sit there and eat because I had to pay for 26 tables to get the space I wanted as a minimum and I only ended up using 25 for guests

Vendors did not sit with my guests in my wedding. I don't think they typically do in most venues here. For mine, they weren't even in the same room as my guests.

We're asking their preference. We have the space to put them at a regular table, or we could put a table in the warming kitchen away from our guests so that they can truly have a break. I do feel bad because...well...it's a kitchen, however, it won't be in use and it's the only place that's really away from everyone else.

Great idea. I hadn't considered a buffet style for my vendors. I'll see if this is an option. Thanks!

This is something I hadn’t even thought of.

I’ll only have the photographer, her husband/second shooter in training, and the cater waiter. There’s no separate area for them to eat (if they even do), so I suppose they’ll eat at a regular table.
