How are you collecting RSVPs?

We did paper for our wedding and on the website for the celebration of marriage.

We did paper RSVPd, but enabled online RSVP also. I think 7 people use online RSVP. Everyone else sent the card back.

We are providing an email address or our website to RSVP.

We had a formal wedding. For a formal wedding, formal RSVP cards. I think you're right that the email route is not the best way to go.

We requested that guests respond through our wedding website. 248 of 250 invited guests did so, 10 days before our due date, so only one couple needed follow-up. We included a card, with our invitation, which gave our website address, wedding e-mail, the 3 entrees offered, special dietary requirements?, etc.

After doing online research, about how few of the RSVP cards actually get returned, we decided it would be a waste of money, to use anything but online responses. My then 87 year old grandmother was able to do it; she's on the internet every day.

We had a very formal wedding, in a historic, 5-star hotel.

I created the template for my invitation and will be creating the rsvp card as well...so my tech savvy friends will get a details card to rsvp via the website and my non-tech family will get actual rsvp cards/self-addressed stamped envelopes.

I feel like all those posters who post for validation and not opinions, right now LOL. I read what you guys are saying, I know you are right, I know I will regret it if I don't listen and still I want to be lazy and just put an email.

We did email RSVPs. Most people did send their RSVP, some late. I'm pretty sure my rate of no-replies was no different from people who sent paper RSVPs. We invited about 160 people, had to follow up with 30/40 guests, I think. All the weddings I've been invited to in Canada (BC, Manitoba) have had email or website RSVPs; I've never received an RSVP card in my life. And I didn't want to have all that extra paper that we'd end up just throwing away.

A lot of people will get confused if you do anything but paper. Even the younger generations had a hard time finding my wedding website on my STDs....

@Original VC, I'm in Canada too! A couple of my friends have done email and a couple paper and only one has ever done website so that why I'm so darn torn lol. Good to see that it can work out with email though

Me personally I liked receiving them in the mail but alot of our invitations got lost in the mail, so that was frustrating. Just give yourself enough time just incase you have to resend them. I have also seen people are doing a wedding website and having the rsvps on there

I think the wedding website might be your best option if you don't want to use paper ones. I personally feel it depends on how formal you want your wedding to feel. Email and text feel very informal. Personally I love filling in the card and writing a little note on it for the bride and groom.

I set up the RSVPs on the wedding website I made through WW. It was SUPER easy. I am actually excited about it. It makes it easier on you, because the website keeps track of everything & it makes it easier on your guests, because they can do it on their phone or computer instead of mailing something back to you. I am just adding my website information on the invitations and they can take it from there.

My guest list is pretty small (under 100) and most of them are tech savvy enough to RSVP online, yet I do have a few family members that will have no clue what a wedding website is. For those few guests, I will contact them personally.

We did postcards for RSVPs but also used the website feature here and included a link to RSVP online too.

We're doing paper RSVP's and they'll go out to the guests already addressed with a stamp! We have lots of older guests that don't use the Internet well so this works best for us!

We are doing paper RSVP's and included stamped envelope to have them mailed back to us. I thought about doing the email but I found this way will be more organized as some of the guests don't use computers.

I did online RSVP through Paperless Post with an email and phone option. I also mailed three paper invites to grandparents with stamped cards. Our RSVP deadline is Friday and so far I have 30 invites outstanding. From what I hear, however, that's not an abnormal number, even for paper. Most people used the website. One friend sent and text and I had a few emails. I wouldn't do anything differently, online RSVP has worked well for me.

I'm doing paper RSVPs it'll be easier for some of my older guests/ those that don't have access to a computer. Also if someone messages me to say they're coming and who's coming with, that's cool too.
