Hotel Venue search

Hello Everyone. I just got engaged on 12/21/19. I was thinking about doing our wedding at a hotel for many reasons. I just don't quite know how we should base our decision to choose specific ones. I have a few that will limit the enormous number of hotels that offer hotels as venues. Is it normal to stay at these hotels to help decide if it is right for you or am I just weird for thinking that?

We just toured the venues to determine if we liked them. Our venue was a hotel and we loved it.

You don't need to stay there but it could help I guess. I actually chose a hotel I had stayed in years before for another wedding. I think touring the hotel is probably enough though!

Usually you can make that decision just by taking a tour. It's not the bedrooms you're interested in, so staying there won't net you much information. You need to see the rooms/areas where they hold weddings, find out what is included in their wedding packages, and what are their limitations for weddings (limited hours at venue, bringing your own alcohol, cap on # of guests, etc.).

I was just wondering if it was too much. Our lives are hectic and it would be a nice get away but I was looking if it was a plausible thing to do. Lol.
