Hotel rooms for the wedding party?

Did you all pay for hotel rooms for your wedding party? FH and I have been talking about this as an option, and we're leaning toward it. I'm especially thinking of my MOH, who has quite a drive to make our early morning hair appointment in the city. Is it best to secure a discounted rate and give them the option, or pay for the hotel rooms for ourselves? If we pay for the rooms, do we reserve them for the entire wedding party? If we reserve a room for the MOH and her family, do we then need to reserve one for the BM and his family too? What's the best approach?

If you can afford it that would be an amazing gift. We are not since we cannot afford it. I think if you reserve the room for the MOH you should reserve for the BM as well, but that's my opinion, not official etiquette.

We did for our Best man and his family since they came from out of town. The others were local and close to the venue so they were ok with no hotel room, and we had ours on a Sunday so people werent raging afterwards.

I've reserved a suite for me and any BMs that want to stay with me the night before the wedding. Otherwise it is up to them. Some are local and some are not so I'm giving them the option of staying with me or wherever they want, plus all have SO's that they might rather stay with instead. They will all be taking care of their own accommodations the night of our wedding. Unfortunately I can't afford to pay for so many rooms, otherwise I'd love to do that for them.

I'm renting a room for my bridal party since they are only 3, and I would like to share that time with them. But honestly it's uo to you, and if you can afford it.

My mom got my girls rooms plus their significant others. We had to separate the rooms at different hotels only because there's a home game in the college town we are getting married at so rooms are limited. But, yes, I paid for the girls rooms. The guys are on their own haha

The only people staying at the same hotel as us the night before our wedding are my sisters. We decided to split the cost.
