Hotel block rate on our wedding website?

Sherry, on December 9, 2014 at 5:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Do we put the room rates for the reserved hotel block on our website or let them call the hotel to get it? There is a standard and suite rate.

I put the rates on the website. I'm not sure if benefited anyone that they were there or not but I don't see any reason for the information to not be there.

I had this question too! We haven't published our website yet but as of now we have the block rate on our website because it isn't posted on the hotel's website and we wanted people to be able to know the price so they can compare it to other hotels in the area in case they are considering not booking with our block.

I haven't posted ours yet either but was curious if it was frowned upon to put the rates on the site. I would hate for our guest to get charged more than we negotiated with the hotel.

I've definitely seen it done, it's good to give guests an idea of what they will pay.

I would put it on there. That way people don't have to call the hotel to find out the rate if they are interested in comparing with other hotels.

I put it on our website - I found it to be far more convenient for guests

I'd just give them the code or whatever to call the hotel to get the rate, but not mention the amount, unless the contract GUARANTEES you a rate, as they may rise prices for rooms depending on other bookings.

I put the rate on the website. I think it is more convenient for guests to be able see it and not have to call just to find out. And yes my contract with the hotel sets the price for my block.

I put the rate on our website. And offered my email address if they would like to find other hotels in the area. Just in case they don't want to pay the $105 a nite

I put it on our website. I would rather them know up front that way they have the option to choose another hotel if they choose to.

I will put it on our website because as a guest, I would want to see it. Ours has an additional hefty parking fee as well so I don't want anyone to be surprised by that.

My hotel gave me a link to a page specifically with our room block name and rate on it. I put that link on our website. Maybe yours can do something similar? We're using a Courtyard Marriott if that helps.

Almost everyone who booked their room in our block did so through our wedding website. It was super easy.

If your price is written in stone on a contract then I would put it but if not I would just put the information needed for them to get the pricing on the block rate.

I would put it on my site. I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't put it on your site. That is what your wedding website is for, to provide details about your wedding :-)

I put it on the website, how else would they know what the rate is?

I put the rate on the website. I told them the price, plus tax for either a king room or a double bed room. I wanted them to know up front that way they didn't have to call and ask and if for whatever reason they didn't want to stay there based on that they could look at their own options before hand.

I put it on there. I'm in a contract with the hotel, so the rate can't change. I don't see why you wouldn't.
