HORRIBLE experience at David's Bridal

Hi everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone else has had a terrible experience at David's Bridal... My associate was EXTREMELY rude and didnt help me at all! I had an appointment, which started 30 mins late, and she was rushing me to finish early! She even told me at one point that she "almost quits every bridal season." Wtf?! All the dresses I pulled were dresses I found and pulled myself. She never once offered to help me un-bag or re-bag the dresses after trying them on, never offered to find another dress for me... Just ridiculous! I had no idea what style of dress I wanted, and Im not up-to-date on all of the dress lingo and terms... BUT luckily my MOH pulled a beautiful dress that I ended up buying. If I hadn't loved the dress SO MUCH, I would have left and never came back.... TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Yep, definitely hit or miss. The DB down by my mom's was awful. She and my sister had an appointment, but their consultant apparently had a bride at the same time and was more focused on the bride because that would be a "bigger sale" than two dresses for MOB and MOH. Then my mom and I went back for a different MOB dress and the lady was upselling SO HARD. I was indecisive about a belt for my dress because the one I liked wasn't in silver in the store. I ended up having it ordered and she was so all over the place she didn't order the right belt!

On the other hand, the DB down the road from me seems really nice. It's calm, never super busy, and the girls are nice there. I haven't had an appointment there, so I don't know that experience, but the few time I went in to look at accessories it's been okay.

Yup . Had an appointment . Never saw the person who was supposed to be checking on us . Finally 30 minutes later I flagged someone down and they put us in an open alteration room and said we couldn't pull wedding dresses ourselves but there was no one to help us because they had manager stuff to do

Looks like I'm in the minority but I had an awesome experience at DB. I couldn't have asked for a better consultant - she was friendly, attentive and not the least bit pushy. I ended up purchasing my dream dress after my second appointment.

I'm sad to hear so many have had a negative experience at DB. I think I got really lucky with the consultant I ended up with.

I went to DB to get my wedding dress and it was a great experience. I also purposely scheduled my appointment on a day where no one would be there.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience!!

I had an amazing experience at DB, my Mom and Aunt have cancer and my Aunt is hospice, my consultant arranged for us to have the largest room in the best spot of the store. She was amazing paying attention to every detail and helping make this a wonderful experience for my mom, aunt and me. She cried when they cried, it was really amazing.

I am so sorry so many others had a horrible experience. It really is all about the consultant, I really believe if it was somebody else we wouldn't have had such a wonderful experience.

I forgot to mention, I made an appointment for when they opened. I was early so I sat in my car until 11. Then tried to go in and they made me wait in the entrance way. Right then and there I knew it was going to suck. Lol. I walked out and went next door to get a mani pedi because I was so stressed about the situation. A small bridal shop is always better than a chain. They over work their employees and it is not a personal experience at alll

I went to a DB shortly after getting engaged because they were having their $99 sale. My mom assured me we didn't need an appointment, so I didn't make one.

When we walked in, no one greeted us, and we were just walking around looking at dresses. We finally found someone that worked there and she said "Do you have an appointment? Oh. Then we can't help you" and walked off. No offer of scheduling a future appointment.

So we left and found a great local boutique, where I bought my dress and the BM dresses.

I have heard that it varies by store, and the other DB in town has a better reputation, but I didn't feel like giving them business after my experience.

Oh man I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! I recently bought my dress from DB and had a great DB associate that helped me during my appointment. She was juggling multiple brides and still worked with me. I guess it does depend on the location. I'm glad you found your dress!

So sad you had this experience. We had the greatest consultant at the DB in Tuscaloosa Al. Sonja was polite and experienced. Asked for my inspirations and my photos then pulled my perfect dress on the first try. My SIL also used them with a wonderful experience! So sorry. But at least you found your gown!

I made an appointment for a Sunday for my sister to try on BM's dresses. We found a dress quickly, and were happy with it. However another of my bridesmaids still needed to go shopping, and as I was paying for the dresses, I wanted to buy them both at once.

The consultant wrote down all our info--the dress, the size, the color that we picked out, and she assured us that I could just call and order, and all this info would be on my file.

A month later, my other bridesmaid has picked her dress and I'm ready to order. I call DB on a Thursday around 5 pm. The phone rings endlessly, and I try calling about a dozen times. Cannot get through to anyone no matter what options I hit.

So i resign myself to going in in person. I'm there when the doors open on saturday, and guess what? There is 0 info on my file. Not the dress style, size, or color. I was incredibly lucky my MOH remembered her size, or I would have had to get her back in to be measured again. Oh, and to top it all off, as I was checking out, she handed me a coupon to shutterfly for $40 off prints for your wedding, which had expired 3 months prior.

I had the worst experience ever. Including the salesperson telling me that I shouldn't try on certain dresses because they weren't appropriate for my size. I went to different place afterwards, found my dress and stuffed my face with tacos.

I had a poor experinece at DB as well. Our consultant was very busy helping 6 other brides at the same time. I didnt mind that. My sister/MOH pulled dresses for me and helped to bag them. Ive had issues with different consulants saying dofferent things like what services they provide, cost of alterations, etc. Each time I spoke to someone I was given different answers. I did an "anonymous" survey asking my thoughts and I said I wouldnt recommend them to a friend. I instantly got a call from the store manager. I explained that my experince has been difficult to get correct information and other concerns I had, she basically asked me what did I expect. I know they have many brides coming in and are most likely under staffed but I really wouldnt recommend them if you have access to other salons in your area.

Oh my. Yeah mine wasn't great and I got my dress from my first wedding from there.

Essentially she insisted I was a size larger than I knew I was, kept pulling dresses that was NOTHING like what I wanted, I got so agitated I pulled one myself in the size I thought.

She tried all the others on me, didn't pin them and tried to help me and another girl at the same time. They were all too big. I put the one on that I chose (size fit perfectly...Imagine that) and after I told her I liked it best out of what we looked at she legit ended my appt saying "No reason to look anymore! You found the one!" Uhhh what??

I had a great experience at DB, but we went when it was slow and my consultant was really great. She pulled many dresses and helped pull dresses on my favorites. She was very sweet. I found my dress there and am very happy! I'm so sorry to hear your experience was awful, but happy to hear you found your dress!

Wow, I had an amazing experience and it was on a Saturday. I found my dress but I was committed to another appointment at a small boutique which BTW was the worst experience I've ever had. Dresses being pulled out of my budget and the consultant and owner telling me no one else wears white and how terrible it looks on people etc. I went back to davids to try out that dress again before I said yes.

That's a shame OP. I live in southen California, and the one near me has been great so far. However the yelp reviews for that same store show that a ton of folks have a bad experience.

I had a fairly disappointing experience there as well. We bought my dress at BHLDN instead, which had great service.

DB is hit or miss. The first time I went was purely for research as it was the first time I had tried on dresses and I wanted to figure out silhouettes. I went after work on a Tuesday night at 6:30. There was one other bride in the store, so I had the consultant's complete attention. When I had picked out some favorites, I made another appointment for when my parents were in town. That was 1:30 on a Monday. At that appointment, the consultant was working with 2 brides at the same time, which greatly annoyed my mother. I ended up finding my dress at a smaller boutique. But the runner up dress was from Davids.
