Honeymoon

Alisha, on March 12, 2024 at 8:22 AM Posted in Honeymoon 2 35
Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing well in their wedding process. I wanted to check to see where everyone is going on their honeymoon. Are you going right after the wedding or are waiting awhile to go on your honeymoon. We went away for a couple of days and waited a year to take our honeymoon. We to Mexico for a week. We had a great time.

That sounds like a fun honeymoon! Did you do any excursions in Mexico? My husband and I left for our honeymoon three days after our wedding. We went to Hawaii for four nights, and then Costa Rica for four nights. It was so fun and a great way to unwind after the stress of wedding planning.

Wow! That sound like a great honeymoon. Did you do any excursions? We did two excursions. One of the was called Xenses and the other was a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. On our way to isle Mejeres we had a chance to scuba dive. It was a lot of fun.

I had to look up what Xenses was, since I haven't heard of it before. That sounds very unique! The boat ride and scuba diving also sound fun! Had you ever been scuba diving before your honeymoon? Did you take any photos during the excursions? I'd love to see them if you did!

We created our own excursions in Hawaii, and we did one excursion in Costa Rica. In Hawaii, we visited an aquarium, went to Pearl Harbor, learned how to surf, went parasailing, and did a dinner and fireworks cruise on a boat (all of those activities were spread out over multiple days). In Costa Rica, we did the "Pure Adrenaline" tour one of the days, which consisted of zip lines, a rappel line, a natural rock climbing wall, a hanging bridge, a Tarzan swing over a canyon, horseback riding, white water tubing, and a buffet lunch.

If you're interested in seeing any of the photos from my honeymoon, I posted a couple threads a while back:

I never been scuba diving diving before Mexico. It was a lot of bc they showed us of their history that happened there (like a cross) on the bottom of the ocean. After that we went to the island. As for the Xenses, we did a water slide before going through a cave that led to a 40 seconds zip line, a mud slide, a mineral water slide and a dark cave where you had to use all of your senses. Of course there were people there to help us it if needed. When we were in the cave we had to feel our way through using touch (hands, feet etc). Once we got to the end there was a beautiful oasis where it was lit and you saw like a water fall and birds. It was interesting and fun we had to feel and touch the plants and walls and a bridge with running water. Your excursions sound like a lot of fun too. The first picture is the town at Xenses and when you go through it, it messes your balance and senses all the way up. The second and fourth picture is the entrance to do all things I listed to do in Xensesand third picture is the boat ride to the island. The last pic is the scuba diving. Honeymoon 1

We went right after the wedding because I didn’t just want a vacation, I wanted a break and relaxation after all the wedding planning! We did a cruise, which I love for vacations because we can unpack once but go a lot of different places. I’ve done several cruises so I was mostly looking for different ports than I’d done before. We ended up doing the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao), and we had a blast!

Cool. I have taken trips to Jamaica and a cruise to Bermuda. They were good trips. You could check into those spots.

Nice! I’m glad that you had fun. I happen to like cruises too. It is where you can relax and have fun. You have everything on a cruise. I enjoy the ports as well bc you get to see and experience the culture and life styles there.

    Mexico would be so fun!

We're planning to do a minimoon right after our wedding. It's not planned out yet, but we're planning to just do some hiking and camping in our state.
We want to take a big honeymoon around our one year anniversary and travel around Europe for a couple weeks

Congrats on your wedding! We actually waited a bit too before going on our honeymoon, just like you. It was totally worth it though! We went to Mexico for a week and had the best time ever.

We went to Iceland! It was July and I didn't want to roast in some tropical place. My husband also hates long flights, so we picked something not too far away, lol. We did lots of awesome activities that are unique to that area, like whale watching, snorkeling between the tectonic plates, and touring inside an inactive volcano. It was an awesome adventure and hopefully we can go back someday.
