Honeymoon the day after your wedding?

Diandra, on September 20, 2016 at 1:54 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 89

Is anybody else out there going on their honeymoon the day after the wedding ? We are and I'm trying to work out the logistics. Is this the dumbest move ever or not?

I wanted to go on our HM the day after our wedding, but FH said that we would both be extremely exhausted and that we should wait until the following Monday morning to leave. So that's what we are going to do.

No chance in hell. I knew I would be running on little to no sleep the night before the wedding and not making any of that up the night of the wedding. And true to my gut, it was just that. I was so freaking exhausted the Sunday after our wedding. Didn't get to sleep until 3 am and checkout was at 10 so we were up at 8 to have breakfast and pack up.

We had wedding Saturday, left Monday. You'll want a day to recoup.

We are leaving day after but we're going on a cruise. My family is taking us to the port since it's only an hour or so from our home/venue/hotel. Since we don't depart until 4:30pm i'm not worried about it.

If you haven't already booked your flight, I'd leave a day or so as well.

We're getting married Friday and leaving on Monday. I wanted to be able to actually get some real rest finally (I imagine I'll be running on fumes by then). And I didn't want to have to worry about packing before the wedding while trying to also make sure all the wedding "stuff" gets to the venue. It'll be nice to have Saturday and Sunday to take our time.

We are cruising to but to the Mediterranean. The flight leaves late on Monday. Our wedding is Sunday afternoon. Thanks for all the advice and comments!

We're getting married on Saturday afternoon and leaving on Monday. We both want a day of rest before our honeymoon.

We left the day after. Got to our hotel by the airport at 3am, flight was at 12:50pm. It was rough, we slept the whole flight to Hawaii, but got there at 9pm and fell right asleep. We felt fine the next day! However, I am not big on rest & relaxation, I like to go go go all the time so it wasn't an issue for me. I know most people say it'd be better to wait, so if you like to get your rest then I would definitely say wait!

We did but our hm was in same location as our wedding, since we did a somewhat destination wedding. We just relaxed at the hotel the first day.

Sort of. Leaving the night after, so we'll have close to 24 hours to get shit together. Flying overnight so hopefully will sleep on the plane.

Yep! It's our only option because my break from grad school is short. Our flight leaves at 6 am the morning after.

We left on our cruise the day after our wedding. We stayed at the beach house we had rented that night then headed home around 11 to re-pack and drop off our wedding stuff then boarded the ship in the afternoon. It was fine- we had kind of gathered up our stuff for the honeymoon already and my parents took my daughter and sister to the airport before they left town.

We leave the next day for our HM as well and let's just say I wish I could have gotten at least a day but the drive to the port is only about 45 minutes so it shouldn't be too bad on us

We are. Our flight isn't until 6pm the next day so we can sleep in and relax a little before heading to the airport. I don't mind leaving the next day as I am not into relaxing much. I like to stay on the go. However I would not book an early flight. You are going to want to sleep somewhat late.

It was suggested for us to wait a day in between the wedding and leaving for the honeymoon. I think it's a good idea. It will give us time to rest and chill.

We would do it, but FH is a teacher so we have to wait 3-4 weeks until hes out for the summer.
