Honeymoon Suite for the Wedding Night?

Jackie, on March 8, 2010 at 10:42 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

My FH and I are at odds about this issue. I brought it up recently (3 months until our wedding btw) because time is ticking and I'd like to get everything squared away. FH was fuming that I would even consider staying at a hotel our wedding night. I thought it was the norm! He insists that we should stay at our apartment, since we don't live together and it will be our first night there. I told him money is no issue, my Mom thinks it's ridiculous and she'll pay for the hotel. What do you guys think?

Well, if we had a super fancy hotel we could say at, we would. But we don't, so we're staying at home. It's totally up to you, just tell him that you would love to be able to soend the night in a hotel and not have to clean up or anything!! And bed in breakfast the next morning is always nice.. Smiley winking just tell him you want that night and morning be carefree and be spoliled as a couple.. Often the hotel the reception is at will give you your wedding night suite for a discount or even free..

Meh. Most people are completely exhausted by the end of the day. In all honesty, you'd be better off saving it for the next day/night for when you are well rested!

Fh and I are talking about staying at a hotel that night because we've had family already volunteer to watch the boy for the night and we know that if we return home without our child that we will just spend the night cleaning the house and playing video games, even if it is our wedding night

Make it special. You will have many many nights at home! Take a night to be pampered, and eat room service! You will be too exhausted to drive home or cook, so take advantage. You won't regret it.

Many times the wedding party will pitch in to get you a suite for the night. We're going to stay at the hotel where all of our guests are staying because it's closer to the airport, and we're leaving at 6am the next day.

I totally agree with Analy. Stay at a nice hotel. Have a massage in your room, order room service for breakfast. Enjoy it!

We recommend staying at a suite the night of your wedding. It allows you to enjoy the day after the wedding without the stress of what awaits you at home, phone calls, etc. If you have a planner, we tend to be able to get you great deals on hotel rooms, so utilize that service! Best to you and have a wonderful event!

We’ll have a double purpose hotel room. We’ll check in early in the morning and I’ll get ready with my bridesmaids there. At night, it will be our suite. The hotel was able to accommodate the early check in at not additional cost.

We are getting the room for three nights. We have a bunch of relatives staying at the house and last thing I want is to have our weddig night with my parents across the hall in the guest room! lol! We got a deal with the hotel. For every room booked form our wedding block, we get $10 off the jacuzzi suite. Hoping that many will use the hotel. Smiley smile

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! It's difficult to get him to realize how stressful this planning is. It's really taking a toll on me. I will talk to him about it again and see what is best for both of us.

    Thanks again!

The man wants to break in your apartment, after it all I agree you might as well wait until the next night when you can enjoy it and plan a romantic evening Smiley smile

Oh there is no way Im coming home. We already live together so it wont be anything special. We are staying at the same hotel as our guests, we get our room for free. By the time the reception ends and we clean up it will be just about dinner time so we are inviting everyone back to the hotel for pizza and beer.
