Honeymoon - St. Lucia Jade Mountain

Anonymous, on September 10, 2012 at 7:32 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14

Hello Folks,

Have any of you gone to Jade Mountain in St. Lucia? We really want a nice honeymoon. They are super super expensive, but super amazing. Even if we can save the money up to go, I don't know if it's worth it to be super broke when there. It's about 1,100/night. If you've been, what were your experiences? If not can you show your honeymoon location pics?

    Oh my God, my fiance and I were looking at this same place! I agree the price is a bit of a turnoff, but it looks soooo beautiful. Sorry I can't help, but I'm glad to know someone else also liked it.

    The resort is amazing but whether it's worth the price is completely up to your expectations of what you think a 5star resort should be; The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle, approx an hour drive from the airport (sometimes the air conditioning in the car does not work, so bring water or something to stay cool and a snack for the drive); when you are getting close to the hotel the road gets bumpy I found it ok however others found it so bumpy there back was hurting; there is no AC in the rooms because everything is wide open; you are assigned a butler of sorts who arranges your shuttle (if this is not done in advance you will have to climb the over 200 stairs)

    Oh it looks absolutely gorgeous!!!

    if you end up nixing it, though, maybe consider hawaii? i know it's probably not too too much of a difference price wise but it's also very very gorgeous, there's tons of things to do and the people are so nice Smiley smile

    Thank you so much, amazing ladies. I think we will go for the buy 3 nights get 1 free. thanks for the tips on the stairs @vanessa. we will also use our time share to go to paris for a week. now we just have to start saving. I know our goal was to pay for everything by the time of the wedding, but we may have to borrow a bit for it and i'm not sure if it's worth it. or maybe we should wait a year or so.

    belize is beautiful. we think in 2013 we will go to Hawaii. My fiancé lived there while in the military and doesn't want to go back.

    thank you everyone. this is really helpful.

    Wait, Vanessa, what do you mean "depending on your expectations of a 5 star resort?" does that mean it's not that nice in the resort itself? do the pictures not do it justice? what should we not expect beyond ac? if i pay a lot of money, i want an experience I will never forget.

    See Vanessa, I would be a bit upset. At $1000 a night, I expect everything to be thought of before I have to think of it. My expectations would probably not be met.

    Hey Bethtina! We are going to St. Lucia for our honeymoon in a month and a half (WOW!) We are doing a package through cap maison and ladera; two different hotels with completely different feels. It is pricey but we felt worth it, we did all inclusive...it looks amazing! You should definitely check it out!

    This is the package we are doing: http://www.ladera.com/es1191/cat62/peak-to-beach-package

    At Ladera, every room is missing a 4th wall, so i am assuming it will definitely be an experience you will never forget!

    I do think the resort is beautiful in my opinion but I travel a great deal and have a better sense of what to expect depending on where I am; the feedback I provided you was based on my observations and people I met while there;
