Honeymoon right after wedding or waiting a while?

My fiance job does not offer vacation hours or paid time off, so if we take a honeymoon right after the wedding it would be one day at the most two days. We were thinking of either waiting to do it later on in the year or just going somewhere close like Key West for a weekend. When do you plan on...

We are going on a 7 day state side honeymoon to Key West the Monday following our Saturday wedding. We thought about not doing one and making our 2017 Nee Zealand trip our honeymoon, but we knew we wouldn't get that "just married" feeling 7 months later. So, we decided to do one right after!

Our plan is to stay the wedding night at a hotel close to the venue. The following morning, head to Puerto Rico for a week. That's the plan but it could change.

We're leaving for our honeymoon one week after the wedding. I'll probably work the whole week in between.

For my first wedding, we didn't have time off available from our jobs so my ex-husband and I went to Atlantic City for the night. Not sure why we did that since we were 19 years old and couldn't play at the casinos, and it was October, so we didn't go to the beach.

We are waiting a couple months. My FH doesn't have enough time saved up so we are waiting for that. We are taking a road trip to see a couple different baseball stadiums, which actually works out perfect because it'll be at the end of summer when we are going. Smiley smile

We aren't having a "honeymoon" because of money and we have already traveled places together. We will travel with each other in the future and whether we call it a honeymoon or not it's fine because we just enjoy each others company.

I never thought about waiting for the honeymoon. My wedding is on Memorial Day weekend in Savannah, GA which is a destination wedding. I may wait until the summer to take the honeymoon.

Before we decided to do a destination wedding and leave for our honeymoon immediately after, we were looking at doing a wedding locally. When we were looking at doing a wedding around where we live, we were going to leave after the wedding and spend the weekend in Boston (we live in NY), and then we were going to go on our honeymoon the year after. So we were going to have a mini honeymoon and then a bigger one.

We're heading on our honeymoon the day after we get married. Our honeymoon isn't very expensive and I have PTO from my one job that I can use, plus all the extra money we've been saving with me working 60 hours a week between two jobs. We're renting a serene cabin in VA (for 3 nights) near a beautiful stream within walking distance to hiking trails and state parks. It's our perfect honeymoon. Since FH doesn't get PTO, we're making sure we have enough cushion once everything is paid off for the wedding to pay our bills for July and early August.

Deanna- You could always spend a few nights on Tybee Island for a mini moon? :-) Or go down to one of the nicer islands since school will be out and kids everywhere. I live in Savannah. Let me know if you need photographer or videographer suggestions!

We left for our honeymoon cruise less that 12 hours after our reception. On the road by 8am Sunday after our Saturday wedding.

I have this same question. FH's God mom gifted us her time share to Cabo. If its available I would like to go the Monday after our Saturday wedding. If its not available I was thinking of taking some type of mini trip and trying to do the timeshare to Cabo over new years so it just depends.

We waited about three months after our wedding, because we found an awesome deal for tickets to Europe. They were almost half off. It was actually nice, we had something else to look forward to after the excitement of the wedding was over.

We're waiting about 6 weeks and doing our honeymoon just before Christmas for a couple reasons: our work is slow then, so easier to get time off. And the area we're going will have better conditions (more snow for skiing!)

The plan is for us to leave for our Honeymoon right after our wedding. FH works for a school so if we didn't plan to leave right after the wedding, we would have to wait until school is out the following summer. The only reason that wasn't an ideal solution for me is that we want to start TTC after the wedding - If successful, we could have a newborn during the same time we would be going on our honeymoon. Going sooner rather then later makes more sense for us.

We're getting married on a Friday and we're heading out on our honeymoon the next day. We've both got two weeks currently blocked for the honeymoon, although we haven't finalized travel arrangements yet, so the amount of time off may change.

We are getting married on a Saturday and then leaving the next night. The last thing we want to do is get married on a Saturday and then have to go back to work on Monday.
