Honeymoon Planning

Denise, on June 29, 2019 at 8:19 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

So, FH and I decided to honeymoon in Hershey Park. There was a lot of drama that went down but we decided we didn't care, that's where we wanted to go anyway. I went ahead and booked the hotel room, but I wasn't sure whether I wanted to actually plan the honeymoon or just kind of go with it. Tickets went on sale in March, so I got 2 one-day tickets so we could go to the park. I also think I'm gonna buy tickets for the factory, but I'm not sure if I want to buy ahead or if I want to just do it when I'm there. FH wants to go see the antique car museum too, so again I think we're just going to go with the flow of how it feels when we get there.

What do you guys think?

Where are you guys honeymooning?

Are you creating an itinerary or are you just going with the flow?

Any suggestions on Hershey Park activities?

We're going to Gatlinburg, TN for our mini-moon in November and we're not planning to schedule anything. There's a couple things we'd like to do while we're down there, but we'll see if we feel like it once we arrive. We may just want to relax after all the hustle and bustle of the wedding. We're going on another trip in March (beach, undecided where) and we'll probably plan more activities for that trip.

That sounds really cool. I loved Gatlinburg when I went, it was a gorgeous place. I hope you enjoy your mini-moon.

We mostly went with the flow on ours. We didn’t want to feel too locked into doing anything!

We’re doing a cruise, so ours will be fairly tightly planned because of buying excursions and the like. We’re going to try and build in lots of free relaxation time too, though.

That's awesome. We contemplated a cruise but FH doesn't really care for the idea. He said he'd rather stay on land "Just look at what happened to the Titanic" he's such a goober Smiley xd

Haha! Ideally we really wanted to go to Japan, but we don’t have the time or the money right now. That’s our dream destination. We chose a cruise because it’s extremely easy to plan and you have a lot of great options for things to do, which is what we wanted in a honeymoon!

Ugh! Same! I was watching a few videos of trips to Japan an dI just fell in love! I told FH that I will one day, with or without him go! We have a running joke since he's afraid to fly that he's going to be drinking his soda one day and just wake up in Japan! Lol

You will fall in love. This is where we are getting married and we love it here so much. We chose it because theres so much to do for out of town guests and its FH and I's yearly vacation for the last 3 years. The cabins are beautiful and the town while small is so awesome!

We've both been to Gatlinburg a few times and we love it! This will be the first time we get to go together though, so we're really excited. I'm mostly excited for the hot tub though lol. An October wedding in Gatlinburg will be gorgeous!

This is us too. The appeal of not having to think about anything won over our desire to go anywhere else.

You should go to the zoo and do a few of the activities in the factory.

Ok, I am still stuck on your first lines. What drama could you face over your honeymoon choice? Something that is absolutely no one else's decision but yours? No one else even has a right to express an opinion. Have a great time. Do not book yourself tightly in advance. There are lots of things to do in the area, most do not book solid before the day,. And an awful lit of nice day trips are dependent on the weather. Why be suck indoors on the only nice days? Or try the nicest outdoor ones in foul weather. That part of the country, like much of New England, changes greatly day to day, and forecasts 2 days ahead are often wrong. So keep flexible til the day before you do things, except basic lodgings. Enjoy. Nice easygoing place, easy to relax and enjoy each other after all things wedding are out if the way.
