There's so much to do in Italy I don't think there's really a bad time of year to visit!!

I wouldn’t recommend you to go to Italy in November at all. It would be foggy and rainy all day, you wouldn’t see any tourists and restaurants in touristic areas would most likely be closed (except from Venice). I think the best season to go would be spring or summer, especially if you want to visit Rome, Florence or Amalfi coast, unless you don’t mind bad weather and cold.
