Honeymoon ideas on a budget

Sarah, on January 16, 2020 at 4:15 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10
Anyone know of honeymoon ideas that don't break the bank? I live in NC and right now we have no idea where to go or what to do.

When you say "budget", what is your budget? I'd look within the US, maybe close to you for cheaper flights!

My FH and I also live in NC. We are getting married on a Thursday. We will be spending the weekend in Orlando, FL and boarding our cruise to the Bahamas on Monday and we will return on Friday. So in total, our honeymoon will be 8 days long. Cruises are always a great alternative to traveling that won't break the bank!

You can do Asheville, Charleston SC or the mountains in Gatlinburg TN. There are also cruises that leave from Charlston SC to the Bahamas. I believe they are only 3 to 5 day cruises.

You can also always wait and save up for a honeymoon. My uncle and aunt waited a while so they could go to their dream destination. Gives you more time to build up excitement too!

Which part of NC are you from? I lived there for the first 22 years of my life, all in different parts. Ocracoke Island is a quieter beach spot, that tends to be cheaper. Boone is a great mountain area, and there are some smaller areas nearby that you can stay to make things a bit cheaper. There are both nice hotels and bed and breakfasts. Stay away from Asheville, if at all possible as most of the stuff there is $$$$$$. You could maybe stay somewhere outside of Asheville if you wanted that to be the destination. There is a lot to do there. If you are from the middle of the state, Old Salem is pretty cool, though it is a bit more costly as it is a touristy place. That's all I can think of for now, but I hope it helps some Smiley smile

We are getting married about an hour outside of Raleigh (Pinehurst, NC) and are thinking of taking a mini-moon in the Asheville, NC area. We are looking at Omni Grove hotel as they have packages for romantic get-away's. We are taking our actual honeymoon in November as we had a cruise booked anyway. We are looking at spending 5k-7k between the mini-moon and the honeymoon cruise as we are staying in suites and flying first. However, you could do the resort for significantly less if you don't upgrade to a suite and keep meal planning in mind (eat cheap for breakfast and lunch). Good luck!! There are many options in the beautiful state of NC that will be memorable and won't break the bank!!
