Honeymoon and elopement plan (huge sigh of relief)

Congratulations! We looked at EPM for our honeymoon, but we went to Excelllence El Carmen cuz hubby wanted to go to the Domician Republic (our 1st vacation as a couple was to Punta Cana and that's where we 1st said "I love you", so he wanted to go back to where it all began, sort of). Excellence is amazing, and Playa Mujeres is supposed to be their best resort. Did you guys get an Excellence club room? If so, you won't regret it. There is a delicious restaurant called Magna that is for excellence club only and the free honeymoon perks are great.

LOL he wanted the Caribbean as he had never been there and he was like we have been to Mexico and I had to remind him that we were in Cozumel for one day from a cruise. not the same lol. We looked at El Carmen too but Mexico was the better deal for us in regards to flights and stay. Plus after looking at a lot of videos we liked theirs the best. We saw the club thing but it said it is like an additional $100/day and we already dropped $4,000 lol. We do want to hear some excursions and it is great to hear you are also going with them. I am excited for your honeymoon plans too and that is super sweet that he wants to go back where you two declared love for one another.

View Quoted Comment Oh, we went last year and had a blast. I don't think it was that much more per day for an Excellence club level room when we looked, but we didn't go for the 2nd floor terrace. They get really hot during the day, so we knew we wouldn't use it. We booked the Excellence Club swim out suite and got upgraded to a room with a private pool. For 10 days, plus airfare and transportation it cost about $5000. For excursions in Mexico, chichen itza (Mayan ruins) is awesome. There's also fun tours that include diving into cenotes (underwater rivers) and stuff like that if you like more adventurous things.

Ahhhh we are going in November so hopefully not too hot but the seller for us was something private with the private plunge pool plus a view especially during sunset. We looked at the private pool too. Yeah I told him we need to see Chichen Itza (Spanish teacher here...must see ruins lol) and we saw in vlogs those excursion too and got excited. I am glad to hear you went and had a great time and thanks for the tips. I am not sure if what we got comes with excellence club but we got like the top tier room ha ha. If not, oh well I just need food and wine and I am a happy clam. I told him he's lucky...I am easy to please...just feed me ha ha.

Omg that all sounds amazing though!!! We're going to end up postponing Hawaii for this year, so I'll be living vicariously through your beach trip. I'm sure it'll all be lots of fun!

LOL well we are also aware we may not be traveling pending COVID but we can cancel if needed. Ohhhh where ya going in Hawaii? When is it planned for?

View Quoted Comment We're thinking next April lol. So a year out from when we were originally going to go. Our plan was a scenic stay in Oahu because we didn't want to island hop and we just wanted to spend time on the beach and sight see. Hopefully by next year we can enjoy that and enjoy our anniversary in style.

Oh you should ha ha. Funny I am going to need to adjust to the honeymoon as I am a go go go type person and he wanted to relax and chill so I gotta learn to do that.

I think elopements can definitely be something super special! This sounds really lovely - especially that private pool!!
