Honest opinions please! Is this dress too booby or shiny?!

ATMC1219, on June 26, 2017 at 11:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 125

After trying on 10-15 different dresses at David's Bridal, I left feeling absolutely ridiculous in all of them. I could not see myself in a traditional white or ivory bridal gown. So I took a chance and ordered a light grey dress off Amazon and it finally came in!

The color was a little different than I expected, as it appears more shiny/silver in certain lighting (pic 2&3) but I LOVE the way I feel in it! I tried it on with my mom and sisters and they all loved it as well. I showed a picture to my FMIL since she offered to make my veil and she commented on how revealing it is and how with alterations I could make the neck line higher.

I felt comfortable in it but now I'm second guessing myself. It obviously still needs alterations at the bottom and the shoulders are loose so I assume that will help a bit.

Do you all think it is too revealing? Is the color too metallic-y?

I can return it if I choose so I will not be out any money. TIA for your unbiased opinions!!

I think that looks really nice on you. It doesn't immediately read wedding dress to me, but you do you.

It is low cut for my taste, but I dress on the more conservative side in general. You do look great in it, so if you're comfortable with being boobalicious go for it.

If it was me, I'd want a little less cleavage

It's beautiful and definitely more modest than some dresses I've seen lately (not on WW, just in general).

It looks good and it isn't shiny. If you don't feel comfortable in it then get a seamstress to fix it

LOVE the color! Love the style!

Personally, I would raise the neckline. I don't like that i can see the bottom of your cleavage. Some top cleavage is good but when you can see between the boobs and the underboob... that's a little much for me. You just don't want people's eyes to go to your chest before your face -- and think about how it will look sitting, if you bend over your table or on the dance floor, etc. I'm no prude, I had both padded and push-up bra cups sewn into my dress, haha! But I think its too low.

I like the color and style.

I would have the neckline altered if it was me, but I definitely dress on the more conservative side.

Love it! The low cut makes its a tad too revealing for my taste but the dress itself is gorgeous! You can always have it altered to be closed up a bit or have a seamstress sew a small piece of matching tulle in the front if you're uncomfortable. Then it won't really alter the dress in any way, just help cover the cleavage

I think its gorgeous! If you're not comfortable you could always add a little extra lace to help cover the cleavage but I think its beautiful as is.

I think the dress and you are both beautiful. I don't think the dress is too shiny. With some alterations it will fit perfectly. (There are some wrinkles below the bust, which show the need). The alterations may also reduce the decolletage.

I love it! The dress is low cut but I don't think it is too an inappropriate level by any means. If you feel uncomfortable there are some easy things a seamstress could do to add a piece in the front for a little extra coverage.

Love the color but not crazy about the amount of boobage. I'm a pretty modest dresser myself though.

I think it looks wonderful. There is definitely cleavage but it's tasteful.

I'd make sure you tape or pin the dress so it stays in place and you don't have to adjust your cleavage throughout your wedding day. We are shaped similarly and I can tell boob movement would be an issue for me in that dress. If you're firmly in place, then disregard my advice :-)

I think it's gorgeous. If you are comfortable with that amount of cleavage, I say rock it (I personally don't think it's too revealing).
