Honest Opinion Needed

JayM, on September 16, 2020 at 12:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Need everyone's honest opinion on acrylic invitations! Got a quote for 100 invitations at $3.55 each. Is that a good price compared to plain invitations? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Considered the ones with the photo, but they are a little more.

They're beautiful. Personally, I wouldn't spend that much on invitations (but that's ME)... Invitations, stationary are special to you and your FH and perhaps parents. But most people aren't going to keep them as keepsakes. They'll pin them to the refrigerator, place them somewhere where they will remember to respond or until the day.. then in the trash it goes.

Again, only YOU and your FH know what your budget is and whether or not this is truly what you want. They really are beautiful, but I can honestly say, I wouldn't keep it as a keepsake.

I think those look beautiful!! For me personally, that's a little more expensive than what I would be willing to spend on them.

This 100%. I have never kept an invitation other than my own lol. Unless it's the couple, parents, or grandparents, the likelihood of people keeping them as keepsake is minimal. I would hate to spend that much money on the invitations for most of them to end up in the trash. However, if this is something important and worth it to you and your future spouse, go for it! Also, keep in mind that postage will probably be more expensive for these, so that is another added cost.

Those are beautiful invitations! The answer falls on what your budget is and what you can afford. If you can afford those invites, get them. But, plain is a lot cheaper. I got mine from Zola. Even though they aren't as elaborate as I wanted, I got many compliments on them.
My vote is for the one with the ring, but the decision should be between you and your future husband.

I do not think they are worth it. They will just end up in the trash. I printed my own invites and spent about $20 total on them. They do look cool but they are not necessary.

Maybe instead of buying 100, find someone that can make them and ONLY make them for those that will find them sentimental (parents, grands, yourselves) - That could be their keepsake from you and your FH?

Wow these are Gorgeous! Don’t know much about pricing of those type of things but I always tell people get several quotes and that way you can tell that the price you’re settling on is average or good.

But like PPs have mentioned I wouldn’t spend that on invited

They're beautiful, like I said as a friend I wouldn't keep it, but can see how special they are to you. Have them custom made for the family and you could give them each a different one. Smiley smile

I was thinking it was a good deal because I have priced around for these invitations, they run about 7-8 bucks each, crazy pricing! They were the best deal I found with great reviews, so I was wondering how they would compare to plain paper invites, I'm just so stuck on these at the moment! lol

Plain invites can be much cheaper. I got mine from Ann'd Bridal Bargains, and they were beautiful. They were originally 99 cents (which includes double sided invitation, rsvp postcard, and envelopes) and I bought them when they were having a 30% off sale.

They are pretty but that's still alot for something that most will throw away.

As a guest, I typically will take a picture of the invite and then tape to the fridge for future reference. These make it difficult to do either of those things, so I would probably just toss and then be frustrated later not having the info.
Personally, there are tons of other places to spend that money that may actually have value.

To give you some perspective or piece of mind, even paper invitations can creep up into the $7-8 per invitation range! I worked with a local invitation designer and the first version my husband and I dreamed up came in even higher than that per paper invitation package... like $10-12. Now that quote had ALL the bells and whistles and included some assembly from the designer. We ultimately scaled down.

Invitations set the tone for your event, so go with what you love and can pay for and what aligns with your vision for your wedding day. ❤️

They’re beautiful! But I personally wouldn’t spend that much on invitations because I feel like guests don’t really keep their invitations.
