Hey, busty brides! i need some help!

A, on April 19, 2018 at 7:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 10
So I tried on my dress yesterday and the top actually collapsed under the weight of my boobs. I asked the seamstress about putting in more structure or boning, and she says it can’t be done because the bodice is too short. The corset part may have been a touch loose at the top but not by much. The sample I tried on didn’t have this problem at all. First picture, my dress with bra cups(supposed to help?). Second picture, me in the sample.

So my question. What did you lovely gals wear under your sweetheart neckline strapless dress? Is there anything out there that can stop this kind of thing from happening? I can’t have under boob crease in my wedding dress. One reason I chose this dress because I was surprised how much it was able to keep my boobs supported.

Try an actual corset or strapless bra under and see if that helps, or ask the ladies in the salon how they tied you in the sample dress. I'm sure they know a trick or two. Also see if a zipper will keep you not supported. My dress has a zipper and cups sewn in, for support. I'm a 32k bra size, so I know the struggle... these are the options my seamstress gave me.

The corset being loose is a bigger issue with support than you think. I would get a boustier or corset to go underneath that is longer in the body.

Thank you! These are great ideas. Yeah, I am normally around a 34H in uk bra sizing, so it’s hard to find bras that fit well. I stopped looking in US stores years ago and just purchase online. And now it seems impossible to find corsets/bustiers that would fit well. 😂 I had a consultation with alterations yesterday, so at my first alterations appointment in a month I’ll try to have them tighten the corset back more when putting the dress on. It was a different lady (newer person) who helped me into my dress this time, so I wonder if she was afraid to tighten it too much?

I'd get a corset/longline strapless bra to go under the dress.

Men's grooming tape to help tape those puppies in. I have the same problem, and my seamstress recommended loose cups with the double sided grooming tape. It's meant to keep toupees on in the wind, hopefully it'll keep your girls in place, too! Grooming Tape!

A couple questions, is the dress a corset back? Do you have cups sewn in the dress? If you do, I think that is your problem: the cups are pushing things too far up. I bought a bra to go under my corset dress and did not need it- the corset in the dress was able to support me just fine on its own.

It is a corset back and it was laced up completely, it probably was not as tight as it could’ve been at the top of the back. No cups sewn in yet. The first photo has cups underneath that the alterations person gave me to try. This photo is of the dress before the cups were put in. Sorry the picture quality isn’t amazing. It was taken further away.

I don't think you need the cups. I think that is what is causing the problem, the cups are pushing you up too high and the dress is toppling over. My dress looked more like the sample you tried on and I had no bra or anything underneath. The corset was strong enough to support me just fine. I added a photo so you could see. I was still a little busty but it was way worse when I had the bra on.
