Your fiance and you should both put in what you can and you've got this! You can definitely have a beautiful wedding on a budget. There are lots of tips on here and we are happy to help! The first thing you want to do is find a venue that is in budget, and there are many places you could use. The trick is going to be not using "traditional" wedding venues, or places that are called wedding venues. Look for community centers with event halls, restaurants with private rooms, parks (although be careful with this because renting chairs and bathrooms and all that can add up pretty quickly), etc. Then look for vendors. If you use a restaurant, your venue will also be your catering which can help cut costs too! If you use some type of hall or park, you can get catering. Typically, BBQ and Mexican will be the most affordable options. You will have to do a lot of research but it will all be worth it!! For example, we had our rehearsal dinner at an Italian restaurant and it cost 1,000 total for the private room and to feed 35 people full 3 course meals with dessert and drinks. Look for something like that!

For photographer and DJ, check thumbtack or with local colleges to see if you can find someone who is newer to the business and willing to give you a discounted rate. Then, you can also save on cake and decor. Our cake was 3 tiers and looked amazing and tasted great, guess where it was from? Walmart! It cost $120 and that was to feed 100 guests. With 40 guests you could get a 1 or 2 tier cake for even less.

For centerpieces, we decided to use vases with water and a floating candle, the vases you can get at the dollar store, you can get the fake flowers that go inside for 2 dollars at hobby lobby, and you can buy a bag of the floating candles cheap on amazon. Example:

My budget is $5000 for my wedding including outfit and all. I am also struggling. I have ordered a lot of stuff for centerpieces/ decoration off of amazon or bought from ac Moore with coupons and sales to save money. Then for photographer I found mine through Facebook. Post looking for recommendations or go to marketplace and alot of people come up instead of companies and you can save that way. My photographer will be with us all day , we don't have a picture limit and we get all rights for $500. The biggest thing Is the catering. I have seen pasta bars on Pinterest where you get different noodles, sauces ,meats and veggies and people help themselves. Which should be fairly affordable because pasta is cheap and should be fairly filling with some sides. Thinking about doing that for my wedding and just having family help make it. I'm also not doing a cake since my fiance and I don't like cake. We will be having a chocolate fountain bar and icecream sundae bar.

Look for all-inclusive venues! A) they are usually more affordable and B) A lot less stressful with everything being handled by one person

You can also cut some things like programs, favors and signs if you don’t really want them.

I would look into doing it at a restaurant rather than a venue. I would skip out on things like decor and party favors and have no or extremely limited alcohol.

I looked into all inclusive golf courses and found one! I had to do it on a Friday so the minimum was only $3000 for food and beverage, with tax and fee total was $3888 for 60 guests. Included was outside gazebo ceremony site With chairs, flowers for gazebo and flowers for aisle. Banquet room for ceremony with chair covers and floor length table cloths, buffet dinner and a tiered Cake. It is totally doable just search and email lots of places for their pricing until you find one in your budget. A Golf course wasn’t my first choice but with my budget I couldn’t be to picky, plus golf courses are usually pretty and well kept. Good luck!

I would try a lovely venue (restaurant or hotel) and consider a brunch wedding. At $50 per person, that’ll be $2K (and tax, tip if not included, plus drinks). You can score a beautiful venue for brunch! Those venues will include the basics (tables, chairs, linens, place settings) so you won’t have to worry about rentals. You won’t even need much decor. 👍

40 people with a $4000 budget is very doable! Cut unnecessary stuff like decor and centerpieces. Spend your money on a beautiful venue, food and drinks! You could easily find a place that could do $50 per head maybe, then you’d have another $2000 left for drinks and the room fee Smiley smile

There’s some options for you. Restaurant- brunch or Friday evening, November-April is cheaper, no booze or only beer and wine, community. centers, park districts, Moose, VFW, etc. you really need to be an event detective to source it. For flowers you can go to Costco, Sam’s or wholesale DYI. Whole Foods by me has mason jars with flowers for $10 each. Really cute. I thought resale shops where you could get mismatched vases and make you’re own centerpieces as an option. Enjoy!

Thumbtack is a great place to find smaller vendors for things. You also may consider a wedding where you only need a permit from the city - like a park or a beach or something in your city like this.

I live in Southern California, Shandin Hills golf club is my venue. Like I said, email all of the near by golf courses and ask about their pricing. I emailed a ton and ended up with two options. It was a little discouraging but I was happy I found one. Good luck.
