Help with venue!

Melissa, on August 26, 2020 at 10:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
My wedding date was 6/12/20- ended up getting legally married (in a park with about 10 people) and postponing my celebration for October. I was getting so excited to wear my wedding dress, but my venue is still NOT open. I need a plan B! Help pleaseeeee! Are there any venues open or of places that have tents? UGH!!!

Will the celebration be for 10 people as well? Or more?

Try some hotels and see if any of their ballroom or meeting rooms are available

You might be resigned to postponing yet again to get the celebration you want. Are you willing to compromise the party you want, or would you rather wait? That's the question you need to ask yourself.

Is it selfish that I don’t want to postpone again? 😫 I feel like I just want to get it out the way—it’s the worst/best way to describe it.

As someone who just rescheduled my wedding AGAIN (currently on my third wedding date), no it's not selfish. I initially had a 10 month engagement which has now turned into 28. I didn't want to be planning a wedding for this long. We are legally married, but this was not something I wanted to drag out forever, and look what happened. However, all my family live in the Northeast and I'm in Florida and nobody will travel, and I don't want thousands of dollars of deposits wasted, my dreams of my wedding day to be crushed, or people to feel like they have to put themselves in danger.

moral of story: this all sucks, there is no right answer. Just like pre-pandemic wedding planning, do what is right for you, you will NEVER please everyone.
