Amanda, on March 21, 2021 at 5:46 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 18

Hi all, my wedding is in august and I'm planning on getting a wedding invitation template from etsy and printing them myself... if you've done this before, can you please tell me where i can find all the paper that I need to use to print them? did you print them at home or did you print them at your local printing store? show me pics of your diy invitations please Smiley smile

Take the file to a local Staples or custom print shop in your area.

Not all cardstock made for invites will go through a home printer, as it is often too thick/rigid.

You need to buy envelopes separate. Call to get prices.

These are my DIY’d invites. Bought cream card stock from Michael’s craft store for scrapbooking and it printed fine from my printer, (old hp all in one 1400 series) and i also bought vellum paper to print the gates of Moria on (that has the blue seal) my printer was also able to print on the envelopes too!!
    They turned out AMAZING!!!

I didn’t get my invite template but I did get my seating chart template from Etsy. Loved how easy it was to figure out! Got card stock from work & was able to print there too. Didn’t trust our home printer to handle the thickness of the card stock.

I believe basicinvite.com has an option to upload your own image/files and they will print for you!

We didn't do this with our invitations, but we did do this for our programs. I had them printed and cut at Staples. We don't own a printer and I didn't want to worry about cutting the invites to the correct size.

You can also print your own images through Zazzle and Shutterfly. With Zazzle, I think you can get envelopes included in too.

If you print in a store, you’ll likely want to tell them to print full bleed—meaning the printing goes all the way to the edge of the paper.

I did this for my first wedding. I got card stock from Office Max and a straight cutter and a ruler. All together it cost maybe $45 for 50 invitations and RSVP cards. Plus envelopes!

UPS also has great printing options. My entire invitation suite only cost $85 and we chose the most expensive paper weight.

Good to know! Thank you! Did you have the envelopes printed with the guests addresses on them or not?
