HELP - What are your songs? -

Baranpartyof2, on August 30, 2016 at 11:22 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 39

So I have most of the important songs picked out but I have a couple left that I cannot figure out:

1) processional

2) recessional

3) bridal party entrance for reception

What songs are you using??

I was thinking of using "here comes the sun" by the beatles for the recessional song but maybe it's to slow? I want something more upbeat!

Still deciding on music, but our recessional song is going to be "When the Day Met the Night" by Panic! at the Disco.

    We used:

"Somebody" by Depeche Mode for the processional, a solo piano version, no vocals. (Its our favorite love song)

    and

"On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons for the recessional.

We didn't do an entrance song.

Totally no clue about the processional, but we're using the beginning of "Circle of Life" from Lion King for our recessional. We're getting married at the zoo, so that felt thematic and fun.

I am so far out but I think about music all the time. FH wanted our first dance song to be Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen for...reasons...but I don't really see how we could make that work. I am thinking the processional will be the Vitamin String Quartet version (which I am listening to now and omg)

WW has a ton of song lists, have you looked through them for inspiration?

Processional is the theme song from Undertale on piano. Recessional we haven't decided on yet. Entrance to reception may be "My First, My Last, My Everything" by Barry White- fun dancey tune.

ETA Bookcase I would burst out laughing if I got surprised by that, but I love it so much.

We used a piano version of Secondhand Serenade 's Fall for You (the first song we danced to as a couple) as our processional, Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up as our recessional, and Heavy D and the Boyz' Now that We Found Love as the bridal party entrance.

We haven't chosen our songs yet but I love "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles and don't think it's too slow at all! Have a listen to the cover by Colbie Caillat as well, it's a little more upbeat. I really love the original though!

Processional - Train; Marry Me (Wedding version)

Recessional - ZBB; Castaway (it's very fitting for our DW)

We aren't doing a traditional reception so no bp entrance.

Also, check out Pinterest. Tons of suggestions on there!

Processional we did a strings version of "Your Song" by Elton John- just the music, no lyrics.

Recessional we did "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates

Bridal Party Entrance we did "Never Been In Love" by Icona Pop/Cobra Starship. I also really liked the idea of "Shut up and Dance" by Walk the Moon and "Can't Stop the Feeling" by JT, but we wanted to dance to those later on Smiley smile

We aren't having ceremony music. If we were, we would have used "all I want is you" by Barry Louis Polisar for our processional or recessional.

I plan to listen to every romantic song ever written between now and March. I don't have our first dance picked and FH only says no to everything.

    Processional - TBD

Bride Walk - I'm leaning towards From This Moment (Shania Twain)

Recessional - In My Life (Beatles)

For the processional for the bridal party we are using Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles

I am either walking in to The Luckiest by Ben Folds or 1000 Years (instrumental version) from the Piano Guys.

Recessional will be Signed Sealed Delivered, I'm Yours by Stevie Wonder

BP Entrance we are going to use I Believe in a Thing Called Love by The Darkness

Now if we could just agree on a first dance song!

Maya Angelou's "In and Out of Time" will be read with music playing in the background as the BP enters,

ED Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" when I enter

And the recessional song is a song by Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson. I can't remember the name
