Help! Wedding without Wedding Party

Lashona, on January 1, 2020 at 1:47 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
We are having an intimate ceremony, close friends and immediate family. This is my first wedding and his second. Per his request, he wants a small ceremony and that’s fine. He doesn’t really have anyone on his side anyhow. How do I go about doing wedding without a bridal party?

We didn’t have one either! I got ready with my mom and sister. You can still get ready with your bestest girls, if you wish. We had 15 guests at a destination wedding and didn’t want anyone to deal with wedding party stress or attire costs. Win for everyone!

Thank you! Did you walk down the aisle with someone or by yourself? I would love if my daughters walked me to meet my husband....

You don't need a wedding party. For the processional, you could do officiant -> groom -> bride. (The groom and/or the bride could be escorted by one or both parents, if you want.) For the rings, groom could keep them in his pocket, officiant could hold them, or you could leave them on the altar beforehand. If you are getting married in a state that requires witnesses, anyone can serve as a witness.

That would be wonderful! Beautiful way to include them. 💕 My hubby & I walked together (calmed our nerves).

Because neither of my hubby’s parents are alive, we had all guests (including my parents) seated first. His brother held the rings for us. The officiant walked in then we did. Very sweet & intimate.

My fiance has no friends. He is very much a loner. He is planning to stand alone. I will stand with my two sisters. Just us ladies will walk down the aisle.

I’ve been to a few weddings without a wedding oarty and it was beautiful! As for help (like your MOH) you can still ask a close friend or family to help be a part of planning with you!

We had no bridal party and 15 people in attendance. People sat themselves, he walked his mom down the aisle, my dad walked me down the aisle. All was well.

We have a DW and including us, there’s 10 total. My sister and his brother will be our moh and bm. But, it’s so small I don’t really consider it a bridal party. All they’re tasked with is to help us get ready the day of and to hold the rings.

I plan on only having my best friend on my side, and he will have his two brothers. I think I will just have her walk down by herself and have the boys already be down there waiting my fh. I'm sure people will think it's silly, but I would like to include my 6 neices and nephews so I plan on having them walking in with the rings or signs.
