Help!!! wedding postponed due to covid - 19

Tijahra, on March 18, 2020 at 5:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Hi all! My wedding date was supposed to be on May 22. However, due to the pandemic it is now scheduled for September 4th. My wedding coordinator has made a memo, but i am not sure if i should mail it out again, or email/text it and them mail new invites in the upcoming months???

Email and text them; guests will understand because of everything going on. Don’t worry; things will be okay. I just moved my wedding from May to September as well. If you have a wedding site post a note there if not just email/text. I am also debating whether to send new invites later as well.

I agree with PP. I would get the information out as soon as possible to everyone. I’m sure people are expecting a change anyway.

We texted/called everyone we could and posted a long letter on our website and social media’s! In the process of creating “change the dates” now. Sorry you are going through this! You aren’t alone! We were supposed to be may 2, and now we are August 16!

I would call or text the guest to let them know and give them the time to reconfirm for attendence. What made you change your date as quickly ??? Like instead of holding off till April to see, like giving it some time? Just curious...ours May 23rd and we may have to postpone further out as well...to hubby doesn't want to neither do I honeslty but we may have too😞

For us it was our venue. They contacted us to say that weddings through june with over 50 would are recommended to reschedule. However, i was already thinking about it because the cdc recommended no gatherings of over 50 for 8 weeks which wouldve been a week before our wedding and with not knowing if this situation was going to get worse i would have rather changed it early than closer to the date. Also, im originally from Seattle, WA and a majority of my guests are traveling from there and WA was hit hard by the virus. So, once the venue called me i sprung into action immediately.

I'm debating this same thing. I already got postponement announcements and I definitely don't want to do a full invitation suite again, but I feel like we will need at least a scaled down invitation.

My wedding was supposed to be on April 4th but according to our state mandate no gatherings of 10 or more are allowed (our guest count was 110). We have just rescheduled for 7/17/20 and I am considering mailing out some sort of simple invitation with our updated information because not all our guests are on social media. We have a wedding website that we had our guests RSVP through originally so I think I can get by with a postcard or something small to point them to our website for updated details.

We're in a similar boat for our 5/1/2020 wedding - so sad! I'm thinking about sending out new invitations through the mail but also calling/texting as many guests as possible right away. The hard thing is that some guests who declined will likely be able to come to the new date, and some who said yes may not.
