Help! Wedding is less than a month away!

So long story not so short. We had everything set and then COVID happened. One postponed date later and everything seems to be falling into place. Until we go to put our deposit back down with our caterer....they don’t know who we are. Apparently when we picked up our deposit (because they didn’t know if they’d still be in business by then) the caterer quit and the restaurant has a new general manager. Anyways we figured that out. We had to compromise a bit because we had it set up to be delivered, set up(buffet style), and served with the old catering manager. But the refused to serve it. So we were going to ask some of my cousins to serve. But with COVID, our guest list of 125 invited has come back with 45 confirmed guests. So I don’t really want to ask one of the few guests to have an important task. I want everyone to be able to relax and have fun. Everything is paid for so there’s no going back. So my only choice is to hire someone. The venue requires someone to serve the drinks, two people with masks to serve the food, and we need someone to cut the cake. The problem is with the vendors that changed, we have a very very tight budget. I’m thinking of posting something on Craigslist or something asking for servers. What the heck do I charge though? I would need one person at 4:30 for drinks (non alcoholic), two from 5:30 until whenever they get everyone through the line, and then one person to cut the cake at 6:30. What would be a reasonable amount to offer to pay someone for about two hours of work plus maybe 30 minutes of clean up?

Do you know any college students or young adults who may need money? Or even high school students(like seniors), they’re usually up to earn some quick money.

You could also ask close friends or family friends

I would ask your other vendors (ex: DJ, florist, wedding bakery) for recommendations. It’s amazing the connections they have! They also will know who you can trust. They also may have spouses or their own family who are looking for work and can just come along. Hang in there!! ❤️

The day before the hall I had my reception at asked if we could have 2 people serve the food. I forgot to ask and the day of 2 people in my family had no problem doing it. I would just ask, they worse they can do is say no.
