Help! typo on my wedding invitations.

Sue, on March 2, 2016 at 12:12 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17

My fiancé and I had to change the time of our wedding from 6pm to 6:30 pm at the last minute for getting invitations printed We forgot to spell check before getting them printed. The invitations now say six-thirty o'clock in the evening instead of just six-thirty in the evening. (It's driving me insane, but they were so expensive. Should we have them reprinted?

Contact the printing company and see what they can do to help you!! Maybe they will reprint at a reduced rate.

Oh no! Smiley sad It all really depends, do you have the means to reprint? Personally it would drive me insane.

Er.. This would drive me bonkers. Realistically, depending on price I'm not sure it makes sense to reprint. Contact them and see if they can do anything for you and go from there.

Contact the company who printed them just to see what they can do and how much a re-print would cost. "Six-thirty o'clock" isn't that big of a deal to me, so I'm not sure I would want to pay for a reprint. I used to work at an invitations store and if the customer approved the proof and it was printed exactly that way, the customer would have to pay for all re-prints. But it could depend on the company, so totally ask!

I would get them reprinted because that would drive me batty. But like pp's have said, give them a call. Sometimes, vendors will give you a break on things like that.

I bet some of your guests will think that's proper.....depending on the cost, probably not.

It would bother me too, but the guests won't really care Smiley smile If its going to cost you a lot, don't worry too much.

Depending on the cost, I don't know if it would be worth it... I don't think I would really care as a guest hah.

As a guest I would notice. If I were you, I'd think of my guestlist. If there was even 1 person that I thought would notice, I'd change them but that's just me personally. I know over half of my guestlist would notice and know that it's wrong.

This would absolutely drive me nuts, too. However, in the big picture of getting married it is a small detail that you may be able to laugh about later. Although some guests may comment, will the error prevent them from attending the wedding?

If you can afford the cost to reprint, then go ahead and have them redone. It would not hurt to contact the printer to find out if you can get them redone at a discount. If it is not in your budget, let it go.

Ad much as it would drive me insane.. I don't think I'd reprint. We're on a pretty strict budget and we're trying to save for a house as well as our wedding so I don't think I'd shell the extra money out to reprint. But if you have room in your budget, and it's bothering you that much, then I'd say do it.

Like someone said see if the printer will work with you to give you a break on it. But depending on cost it might not be in the budget to reprint.

I wouldn't reprint. Most people will probably not realize as they're reading so fast and your brain automatically interprets errors like that. I'd save your money

A lot of places online will fix mistakes for free. Its worth a shot calling and asking what can be done.

Worth checking to see if they can fix it, but "six thirty o'clock" used to be the correct way of writing time. That's how it's done in the original 1922 Emily Post!

Even though that would drive me crazy too, I would not stress about it. its really not that big of a deal.
