Help needed- changing photographer?

Amber, on August 24, 2020 at 10:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hi all!

Like many of you, I was meant to get married this year but had to postpone to next year. Before postponing I had booked a photographer who is an old friend of my sisters. He is great and very lovely and gave us a small discount, but I have been having doubts that his photos/editing style is not exactly what I want. I think I just booked them as I knew them and they were a little bit cheaper (not much!). I don’t think there’s a possibility of asking them to change their style For me either.
Stupidly when I postponed I just asked if they could move to my new date which they were obliging to. Now I’m worried and I don’t know how I could go about cancelling them without offending majorly/having implications for my sister.. I didn’t pay a deposit.
Thanks!

If your relationship with them has been purely professional, saying you're going in a different direction should not be a problem.

I think it’s understandable if you like a different style. I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask a photographer to change their style for you but rather go with one that suits your style. Just be honest.

I agree with PP. Before you cancel with them make sure you can find another photographer!

Thanks ladies.. just very nervous to cancel them seeing as though they’re a friend of my sisters. What could I say?
