Help.... Need advice!

I'm sorry he is not communicating his feelings to you. It seems such a drastic step to call the engagement off and move to his parents. This makes me think he was looking for an excuse to cancel your life together and he took the first thing you thought of so he wouldn't look like the bad person. Or... he is emotionally blackmailing you to get X,Y,Z in the future. People who repeatedly threaten a break-up are trying to control the other person. Either this is him or it's you. Red flags either way. If you want to keep a healthy head and heart, I would accept the silence you initially asked for, grieve, and then plan to move onto a more secure future without him.

Thank you so much for your reply... it has now been a week of complete silence, and I've been reflecting on so many things from the past... and his reaction to anything has always been "Well do you want to break up," from the very beginning. So this reaction is not surprising at all. He gets extremely emotional and starts crying hysterically, and his fears of abandonment get in the way and runs away. I believe the best path now is to move forward without him.
