Help! Ideas on timeline scheduling?

Mary, on July 13, 2019 at 2:26 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

Is there anyone out there who's gone through a DIY wedding that can give me any ideas on planning for ceremony/reception set-up and "Day-of" scheduling? I'm sitting here typing out a tentative timeline, but I'm not sure of all the extra stuff that will pop up. This is what I've come up with so far:

This is pretty similar to what I have written up but I am also decorating on the morning of. If things come up, make sure there is a pecking order before the issue gets to you. Lets say a tablecloth is missing, it will be told to your mother first, than if she can't solve it, it goes to a bridesmaid, if they can't solve it, it goes to the maid of honor and if all 3 can't solve it, it goes to you. Putting that infrastructure in place will make your day way less stressful!

Your reception time seems kind of short. Is there a dinner? Or is that only for dinner and nothing else?

Hi Mary, Thank you for the pointers! I already talked to the pastor at our church and he is giving us the full use of the church on Friday and Saturday! I'm having the rehearsal dinner in another section of the church on that evening, so it saves even more money for us! I am going to ask someone to help organize things on the day of the wedding, but I figured that I sort of need a little bit of a timeline anyway.

I decided to have the wedding during the middle of the day with a "light hors d'oeuvre" reception after the wedding. I wanted to invite our church "family" to our wedding (adults only, for the most part), because there are so many who are special to us.Smiley love We just couldn't afford to feed everyone a big meal, if you know what I mean. Smiley winking ( I'm going to talk to someone else about the timeline to see if we need to add some time onto the reception.) P.S. I don't know what else to plan after the wedding except for people to eat and for us to cut the cake. Anyone have any suggestions for something fun during the short reception?)
