HELP! Free vacation scam?

Megan, on January 24, 2017 at 7:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I posted. But I attended a bridal shower near my hometown last Saturday (1/14). Today I received a call from one of the vendors there. I remember their booth and even got one of their free gift bags they were giving away (so I know they are legit). The call said I won 3 prizes; a set of toasting glasses for my fiance and I, an apron and a free 3 day-2 night cruise (airfare not included). The only catch is that I have to go to some meeting to claim the prizes. Also, if I cannot make it to the meeting THIS weekend, I cannot claim any of the prizes.

I felt like this was a scam and went ahead and googled the company and this offer and I got mixed reviews. Some people say its a scam and others say they got basically a free vacation from them. Has anyone ever heard of this?

The company is Associated Consultants USA. FH and I are being very cautious cause I feel like this is too good to be true and do not want to be sucked into anything...

You probably have to sit through a product demonstration and sales pitch first. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Yeah, sounds like a product demo/sales pitch. If you want the stuff, go for it. If not, don't.

I believe it's a scam .... I heard they try to make you buy so many things and they will keep trying until you buy it ... also heard it's only around the certain days they pick for you to take the vacation .... They called my Fiancé last week and I told him don't answer again for them

I think it's a scam, but that's just my opinion. I've "won" the same type of package at 2 different bridal shows, and so did FH. They said we had to attend a cooking demonstration to claim our prizes, and I found reviews online saying that they try to pressure you into buying cookware and what not. I can't speak for if the prizes are legit or not because I didn't go. But if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

To change the 2 rings you have to be off mobile... You can go to your internet on your phone (chrome, safari, etc) and go to the desktop site to change it. Or you can email the mods, it's in the new user sticky!

I got offered this "free" vacation once. They make you sit through a demonstration that is supposedly 90 minutes but ends up lasting hours as they push harder and harder for a sale. It's not worth it! I would avoid at all costs
