Help diy Decor, or Floriest

Amelia, on December 23, 2019 at 3:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

Hi guys so I'm trying to save money with my wedding. I'm tyring to cut costs with the alcohol, and the decor. I really just want candles of different sizes, and dark plum calla lilies as my flowers. I want the ceramony to be simple, and the reception to have the flowers. I'm tyring to make it simple yet glam. Should I try to buy everything myself, and have family decorate, or should I hire someone.

I think what you're saying sounds simple enough to do yourself with some help but hiring someone would make it so much easier

It’s hard because even fake flowers can be expensive, I originally wanted to make all the bridesmaids bouquets and things like that myself but the more I think about it the more I don’t want to deal with the stress of that.. but I’m actually meeting with a florist on the 28th to get a quote, so I’m hoping she can meet my budget and I’ll hire her. I’m keeping a very open mind regarding the flower arrangements and things like that, so we shall see.

Look at options from Sam's / Costco and Fiftyflowers.com if you DIY real. Hobby Lobby sales over time if you DIY fake. If you do do yourself remember to weigh flowers in the water down under your base rock/beads. We were able to go to some local florists - that will make everything for us and to cut cost we could pickup instead of them deliver. Consult first to get a few prices/ plan what you would need from online options and compare. A lot of florists will help you flower shuffle -sizes, delivery, different flowers with the same impact, filler options to cut cost.

For flowers, I would look at wholesalers like Sam's Club, or hit up craft stores like Hobby Lobby for their after Christmas sales! As far as decor, try looking on Facebook Marketplace, as lots of married brides go there to sell their extras (like candles)!
