If you want to party, all you need for a great night out is to do a bar crawl along 6th street Smiley winking

Lots of awesome places and they close the street to traffic so you can stumble around to all the different bars!!!! Tons of amazing choices for dinner beforehand as well.

If you have money to spend, spend a night at the Driskill! Historic hotel right on Brazos/6th. Its BEAUTIFUL and a quick walk home after the festivities.

@kristy What are some restaurants you would recommend?

    Game on!

    Restaurants:

Maudie's (super casual TexMex multiple locations)

Polvo's (just as casual but more authentic interior mex)

Salt Lick (45 mins outside the city, winery attached, great for parties/casual night out)

Laundrette (Great for lunch or nice dinner before going out, best pastry chef in the entire city)

Sway (Unnecessarily high end Thai food but great patio and great for groups)

Ramen Tatsu-ya (Ramen.... casual but delicious)

Odd Duck (Mid range, small plates, good location)

    Barley Swine (High end meal)

    Swifts Attic (Small plates downtown)

The Grove (good for pizza, pasta, lunches, etc)

I have a million more but that's a nice highlight. If you're looking for location/cuisine/price range specific, let me know. Rudy's is also good for BBQ groups if you don't want to leave the city. Don't bother with Franklin's. Best BBQ in the city is as a trailer called Kerlin BBQ.

    Other good activities:

    Barton Springs

Stand up Paddle Board Yoga Classes (I can get you in contact w. the owner)

CRAFT is a crafting space on South 1st, fun for groups.

Jester King Brewery, wineries south and west of the city too, they all do great tours & tastings.

Lake Austin or Lake Travis boat/pontoon rentals. TONS of choices.

I recommend E. Austin over 6th st. for bars. Or 2nd st for a higher end bar experience. East 6th is fun, West 6th is very frat/sorority, and Dirty 6th is... dirty.

South Congress hotel is probably the newst and most affordable of the high end hotels. If you really want to do it up, I'd do Hotel St. Ceclia off S. Congress - it's probably the best in the city.

Lots of Homeaway rentals, look into those.

Let me know if you have other specific questions....

Specs for liquor! Pay cash and save $$.

Yep I agree with a lot of these suggestions and I've lived in Austin my entire life.

Dirty 6th is called dirty 6th for a reason. Maybe try Rainey street??

If you want a great view for dinner at sunset, check out the oasis on lake Travis. It's where I got engaged! Great views margaritas and tex-mex.

It also depends on season! Weather is totally unreliable here so depending on that you may want to find things to do inside.

There are escape rooms here that I've heard are fun.

A fancy new hotel that recently opened is the Granduca Austin in Westlake. Beautiful place Smiley smile

Here's a picture I took the night I got engaged from the oasis.

Depends on which part of lake Travis you go to! On avg, probably 40 mins? There are plenty of air bnb places and home rentals around.

Currently there isn't uber or lyft in the city limits but there are other options like get me.

Oh the Oasis is so much fun, but it's quite a drive unless you have a rental car. There's also a Lucy's Fried Chicken on the lake now... Rainey St. would be good for a bachelorette, but it's become SUPER fratty too compared to what it used to be.

Hit up the food trailers too, there's a bazillion.

If you don't have a car I'd just stick to Lake Austin - the pontoons are so popular there for bridal parties, it's nuts. It will be mostly bachelorettes & bachelor parties out there. They pretty much just take you to the cove, and have these mats, which are fun.

I'm from Utah but I've had to travel to Austin a couple of times for work... Our favorite things to do there involve crawling 6th street and eating at Sullivan's!! And someone above mentioned staying at the Driskill, I would 10/10 recommend it. It's pretty sweet, it totally gives me Hollywood Tower of Terror vibes but in a good way.

What kind of Bachelorette Party are you wanting to host? Party or relaxing fun weekend? I had my bachelorette party this past weekend. We rented a house in Fredericksburg and did a wine tour and had a nice dinner. It was fantastic. For a more party atmosphere, I would suggest staying in a hotel downtown and hitting up Rainey Street.

    All great suggestions so far!

My sis is planning my upcoming bachelorette party in Austin. She rented a big airbnb house for all 12 girls, and 12 passenger van! The plan is to hangout at the house Friday night, play games, have the girls get to know eachother (many of them are from different friend groups, different towns), then Saturday we will drive to San Marcos to go float the river... then back to ATX in the evening for karaoke, bar hopping, and riding the bull! (See: Trophy Club). Then Sunday brunch of course!

Hoping you have a great time! Austin is the best

Just had my bachelorette in Austin a few weekends ago. Was amazing!! 6th street crawl was super fun - especially because we got offered so many free drinks. Wear a cheesy veil or sash! We also went to a local Burlesque show that was super fun. One day was just crawling Rainey street during the day and hitting up food trucks - highly recommend that. Have so much fun!!

Thanks! I am trying to do my best on this, I am a big planner and the fact that this was all thrown on me stresses me out!

Is Rainey Street like 6th street?

Rainey St used to be a lovely little row of charming houses, then they zoned it for commercial, a bunch of pretty cool bars moved in, and then some douchebags decided to build massive condos at the end of the street.

Some of the bars are still cool though.

If you're over 25, you will be the oldest people on 6th st. I just don't see any appeal to that, but some do.
