Help! Anti-Chafing Advice!

Taylor, on May 30, 2017 at 10:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Hi all! I need some advice! What did you all do to avoid the dreaded chafing or thigh rub on your big day? I've seen many different options (everything from creams to thigh bands) but have seen a lot of mixed reviews. What worked for you? Also, has anyone every used bandelettes and how were they? Thanks so much!!

Monostat makes an amazing anti chafing powder gel. It withstood Florida heat on fat girl thighs.

Body Glide is great, I use it when I hike. It provides a friction barrier. Sometimes, if it isn't ridiculously hot, baby powder or Anti-Monkey Butt powder work well also as they prevent the moisture. I think finding a product to apply versus wearing an additional layer will ultimately be more comfortable and what I'm planning to do. And get one of those battery operated personal fans....sometimes just a minute of blowing air up your dress can provide some relief. Funny story....I used to work in the wedding business, managing a garden venue. I had a bride getting married on an August weekend when we (uncharacteristically) had 100+ degree weather. Her dress had A LOT of layers and she was melting. Prior to the ceremony I went back to check on her and her MOH was lying on the floor, under the bride's skirt, with a fan. That was dedication for sure!!!!

CVS has an anti-chaffing gel that turns kinda powder-y when it dries. I've used it before, but on the big day I'm counting on my good ol' Spanx to do the trick!

I have recently started wearing bandelettes and really love them! They are easy and don't add extra layers on your crotch (which is really important for me when it's hot out )

Bandelettes do have a new item where it's like a long boyshort. For me, this doesn't make sense n I'll stick with their reg item. I want to be able to wear my reg panties (easier to use the restroom) & their new item is not like shapewear do I don't see the point.

I use dove solid deodorant - it works amazingly. I actually started using it just to see if it would work for wedding day and now I use it any time I wear a skirt or dress.
