Helium 36" round balloons/ helium cost

Mom to the Bride, on October 21, 2016 at 10:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 41

Hi. So my daughter wants those big round helium 36" balloons (15-30 balloons) as part of the reception decorations. I'm having no luck finding rental helium tanks......and if I eventually do I'm wondering how expensive this is going to be.

Are any of you planning to use balloons?

I'm not using balloons. They are a little too "child's birthday party" in my opinion. Helium rental tanks are available at Party City!

Have you tried googling helium tank rental in your area? That might be your best bet

We used those balloons on our directional signs leading to the venue. Everyone said how useful they were. We did 24inch round white balloons. 36 inch balloons will take a lot of helium to fill up. You may only be able to fill about 4 with one tank. I would suggest you buy them somewhere that will fill them for you.

Grocery stores in my town have helium tanks.. I would try to blow them up on site instead of renting them? Not sure how that works, but I would want to figure out a way to use the helium without the hassle of renting and returning the tank. Good luck!

Even the Dollar General in my area has those tanks. They really aren't that expensive. We have to buy them for birthday parties every year and usually get about 2-3 uses out of them. I've never heard of renting them.

I'd get them blown up. I just got 3 of the 24 inch ones at party city and they are HUGE I could hardly get them in my car and once I did I couldn't see anything (granted I drive a scion FRS). But blowing them up took a bunch of time and helium. So long as you can transport them I'd just have it done for you.

It was not rude for someone to say that they connect a child's party supply with a child's party.

    What was the total price?

    Also that wasn't rude.

I'm just curious where in the world are you going to put three foot balloons?

This might sound silly, but check with any party clowns in your area. My mom's friend is a clown for local birthday parties and events, and always has helium tanks to use when they are setting up for a charity event.

Maybe then next time google "helium supply" instead of coming on a forum for discussion, if that's all you want.

Hi @Mom to the Bride! Actually everyone was incredibly helpful and specific with their responses! You did ask if anyone was using balloons for their wedding, and all WW users are free to say if they are or are not and why. Per our Community Guidelines, we can disagree about wedding ideas, decor, traditions - as long as it remains respectful, which everyone had been.

I hate to revive an old thread, but when OP left with the line "Good day ......," all I could think of was this:

I did those balloons for my FH's birthday last year and they were jaw dropping expensive to get blown up. My Dollar Tree store did them.

I'm not sure about the helium tank cost but i know those balloons are at least $20 each. At least in my area.

Gabriel and Tam I bought balloons (the white, big round 3' ones) for $3.29 a piece from BalloonsFast website and I found the helium tank with the right amount of helium for just over $100 from not a party supply place, but a natural gas company ??
