It would be helpful to know where you live, as well as what 'affordable' means to you, as it means something different to everyone.

We need more information. Location? Budget? Guest size?

It is really hard. Idk where you are located, but it took me awhile to find something that was under 4000. We eventuallly Decided on the Marriott on the Carolina coast. It's only 1500 for the venue, but they also do catering and the minimum for that is 5000.

Check ballrooms, or look up wedding packages, try a few different websites other than wedding wire. If you have Facebook you could go on community pages like the yard sale pages or just on your regular Facebook and ask for suggestions for venues. Also I found that some websites have an estimated cost of what the weddings cost at the venues and I wouldnt go by those prices go to that venue website and see if they have prices listed there if they don't email them because I had fell in love with one that I thought would be $5000 it ended up being $12000. Goodluck!

Look into local museums. We found a killer deal with booking our wedding at the county museum's pioneer village, and it's what we wanted before ever finding out the price. Win/win. The local art museum was also a great value for the money, but more space than we needed.

One suggestion: if you're in a big city, try venturing out to the suburbs. If you're on a tight budget, you may also want to consider event halls that cater to quinces and other formal events (without the "wedding" focus). The ones in my area are really nice inside, but be aware they may lack curb appeal if that matters to you at all. Lastly, I would suggest an inclusive venue. These venues offer almost every wedding service (catering, decor, photography, etc.). Bundling these services may save you some money overall.
