Mrs. Bivens to be

Have you been practicing signing your (soon-to-be) new last name?

I know it may sound completely crazy and/or dorky of me, but I have been practice-signing my married name during slow days at work and I didn't realize how unnatural it would feel (I mean, I've only had my maiden name for 23 years, of course). I kept misspelling it for some reason if I signed it quickly and I accidentally signed my maiden name by a couple of times. I'm hoping it gets easier!

It took me a while to get my new signature right. Plus I would sometimes forget and sign my maiden name instead of my new last name or I would have to think about which name I needed to sign. Since pretty much everything has been changed now, it's not a big deal. But those first 3-6 months were interesting.

I def pactice lol. I'm very excited to take FHs last name but not because of what the name is, just because it signifies the begining of us as one unit. It's a little hard to get used to tho, it doesn't flow as well as my maiden name. But practice makes perfect right.. lol

Not really, but I will often sign his name at restaurants for the credit/debit card. I am better at math/tip calculations, and my version of his signature is better than his....so I guess that is kind of practicing.

I've been practicing, and like you, it does feel weird to sign a new name....I've misspelled it a few times, and it does not come naturally yet

Haha my friend has been doing this since the day she got engaged. I am yet to try, but I reeeally hate my current signature so am looking forward to perfecting a new one before the big day!

Yes! My current is "Cole" but my married name will be Hausknecht. It's so difficult to write fast!!
