Hate new glasses worried about wedding

CDickman, on May 25, 2019 at 11:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11
I got new glasses. I plan not to wear my glasses for photos. But I will need to have them at times in the night my eyesight is -275 -375 plus they are bifocals. I think the look so bad cause they have to be so thick and I can’t wear contacts.

I would definitely wear them throughout the night if I couldn’t see without them. Maybe you can skip glasses just for ceremony & photos.
Do you think you can get thinner, maybe metal frames? They have nice ones in gold, silver etc. I think those would actually look really nice with wedding dress & jewelry.

If you really hate them, I would see about swapping them for some frames you like better. If not- your wedding isn’t until Sept, any way you could pick frames you like better and set up a payment plan for them? We do that for our patients (I work for an ophthalmology/optometry practice.) If you like your old frames and they aren’t broken/unfixable you may be able to get new lenses placed in them also.
You definitely need to be able to see for the ceremony and reception- I can see leaving them off for pics but I’ll be damned if I couldn’t see my wedding! (I wear glasses too!)

Ps- I think your frames are cute and you’ll be used to them more once the shock of looking different wears off. I want you to feel pretty though because you are!

I seriously do that every time I get new glasses lol. I hate them because I look weird to me and wish I had kept old frames. Then they aren’t so bad after I stop jumping when I look in the mirror. 😂

Try getting a new pair for the wedding from zenni.com. they're cheap and arrive quickly and they have lots of frame options. I have to wear glasses always and my day to day glasses are transitions. So I needed a new pair that weren't transition. Got it in a couple days for about $80 with my prescription. The new frames are thinner than my daily frames and have a little sparkle.

I am -5 in both eyes but luckily can wear contacts. But when I do wear my glasses, they shrink my eyes like no other and distort my face. I honestly do not see that much with your glasses. If you do not want to wear them for photos I wouldn’t but for the rest of the night, it would be great to actually see into your husbands eyes 😂. And your frames are stylish! New glasses always suck but you’ll get more used to them too 😁

I wore glasses for many years, and loved Zenni optical. You could get a cheap pair, thinner, or sparkly, or white to go with your dress. I just ordered a bunch for my kids ( they both wear glasses) and we got 5 pairs for $150. On set with transition lenses. If you only want them for that day no need for expensive coatings and all that. My 10 year old loses them so fast, but can't see without them, so we buy as cheap as possible for him.

Try a website called zenni. It's pretty affordable and you can get clear frames that will stand out less.
