Has anyone seen or used the Guest Sign in Picture frame?

Greyash, on June 7, 2010 at 12:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I am looking for an alternative to guest sign in books, I mean I like that my guests will be able to write us a message, but I feel like it will be a book that will get lost in our house. So I found an alternative, its a picture frame, with a sheet of metal around it, and it comes with a special pen so when the guests write on it, it permanently engraves their message into the metal. I haven't been able to find any reviews on it, and it's pretty expensive so I wanted to see if anyone has used it, or seen it at someone else's wedding? Here is a link if you'd like to see it. http://www.jessicaswedding.com/Personalized-Signature-Frame-Elegant-Style/productinfo/DS4511/

Yes, I have seen them at two weddings. They are really nice. We aren't allowed to have one b/c FH's friends are crazy and would write bad things...LOL.

I have one that I plan on using but it's not metal - just a white paper border around that I got at Wal Mart. I also thought the guest book would get put away and you'd never look at it.

We're doing this. I found a frame at Winners (TJ Max in the US I think)on clearance. I don't like the picture in the frame, so I'll just stick a wedding pic over top of it. I searched high and low for a frame that I loved and ended up finding a real bargain on this one.

I dabble in photography and our home is full of black frames and pics I've taken, so it should fit right in.

I can't wait to see what people write on it. : )

As for guest books, this is my 2nd marriage, and YES, the guest book will eventually get lost in life's shuffle. The only reason I still have it is because it's got signatures/notes etc from family members who are no longer with us.

Ive seen the frame at Davids Bridal over the weekend..It looks pretty neat...we are thinking about that or just taking a wooden box in shape of a treasure chest with notecards for people to write their wishes and then put them in the box....our theme has to do with beach

I think this is a great idea...it's a little off the path from your picture frame but allows your guests to create a fun note to you.

Set up an old typewriter that your guests can type you a letter. You can then turn those letters into a scrapbook or frame them...

The look is unique and really cool. Check out this link to see a few

This is another guest book option. Guests sign their names next to their fingerprint leaves. We're considering it...

I also like the signed mat idea (metal or otherwise).

I am also doing a picture frame/guest book. I just went to Kohls and got a 11x14 picture frame that has a very wide white paper border that people can sign on with a Sharpie. Then I can replace the glass and hang it.

The metal one at David's Bridal is nice, but too spendy for me. I spend less than $25 on my frame at Kohls.

Crystal, I totally agree with you I'm definitely a bride on a budget, and the only reason I want to spend a little more is, it's going to have family from out of town on it and I never get to see them so I thought it would be nice. I also love your idea of the picture frame with the sharpie!

They are very popular alternatives. We have recieved a lot of positive feedback on these items. We actually have a couple versions of this type of guest frame. One is more contemporary and the other one looks very similar to the one you saw. Please feel free to check them out here: http://www.planningpad.com/guestbooksets.html

These items are also eligible for for free shipping

We are doing a "Guest Sign On Book" i'm in the process of making it right now. I just got a regular scrap book and I am putting our engagement pictures in the middle of each page. Putting a boarder around each picture in our wedding colors and the letting ppl sign the pages. They will go in protective covers, but I am having a good friend of mine be our "Hostess" persay and explain to ppl while they are signing in and kin of be in control of it.

I've been to a wedding where you engrave your name with the special pen. The only problem we found was we couldn't tell where people had already signed. We had to move back and forth to catch a reflection of a signature. We were afraid that we would write over top of someone elses signature. It happened in a few places.
