Has anyone rented their wedding dress?

Some other options are to buy a resell/used dress. You can get a dress and donate to an organization. And some people re-purpose the dress -- dye it, shorten it, etc.

A distant relative rented a dress and had a a love-hate relationship with the experience. She liked not having to find a place to store it after and paying a ton of money on a new dress. However, being barely plus size, the selection was incredibly limited and they would not do alterations because the dress had to fit as is for a variety of body types.


You can find very inexpensive dresses via the $99 sale at David’s (but don’t get alterations done there) or Azazie. In major cities, there is often a wholesale fashion district where you can get a brand new dress at wholesale prices.

I don't have any recommendations for any dress rental places in ATL but if you're ever near Augusta, check out Final Cut in Martinez! They have a lot of name-brand (BHLDN was what I mostly saw) wedding dresses there and a range of sizes. Last year, every dress was marked for $350 so I'd expect them to be around the same price now. I'd also recommend checking out the "Georgia Wedding Resources" group if you're on Facebook - I'm sure someone there would know of a rental place in ATL.

I second looking into second hand dresses. StillWhite has great options at low prices and then you can turn around and sell the dress on the same site.
