Has anyone ordered their dress online? I'm scared. LOL

You can't go wrong with David's Bridal. Otherwise I'm leery of any other online store.

I actually found a dress on amazon and ordered it and I love it. My wedding is a vow renewal and informal, as is the dress, so David's Bridal and all the other bridal shops were out of my budget for what I was looking for. I think it's a matter of finding someone that is trusted with a good return policy so if the dress isn't what you expect or doesn't fit, it's not an issue to return or exchange it.

I'm really skeptical of David's Bridal and their return policy. If you buy the dress online, I believe you can return it online, but if you buy the dress in store, it's final sale and they may not have your size in the store to actually try on, thus, you may be ordering a size blindly.

Really? That is good to know! Thank you so much! Good luck and have a beautiful day for your vow renewal. That is wonderful!

As far as the online store, look at their FAQ, About Us, or Contact Us pages and see where the dresses are made...a number of them seem to be from China and I've seen others here warn people away from them.

If you tell us which online store it is, we may be able to give better advice.

Personally, I'm going to look at David's Bridal. I have a rather small budget for my wedding dress, but I have seen several of theirs that would still fit into my budget (plus they do have sales where you can get dresses for $99).

As far as David's Bridal and having to order a dress...for my first wedding, I went into the store and tried on dresses. They had dresses in the size I would need, but not the one I went with. I ordered it and it was fine - they can measure you & know what size you need and/or when you try on other dresses by the same designer you'll know what size.

I had my dress taken altered so that it fit me perfectly (I wouldn't suggest David's Bridal for this necessarily - you can usually find a seamstress that can do it for less than what they charge). There's generally enough seam allowance that the dress can be taken out some if need be, or it can be taken in.

Other than my wedding dress, a number of my friends got their wedding dresses from David's and the BM dress I got for my cousin's wedding was from David's as well - no issues.

Dessy does online gowns to and is a reputable company. They have a "try at home" program where you pay a small fee and they will mail you a sample (you pick the size) so you can try it on before you order and then you mail the sample back to them.

I've never heard of DB not having a size for someone to try on (even if its not your specific dress) and a few other girls have posted on here how even though they tried on and ordered in store, DB let them do a size exchange when it came in and didn't fit right.

I ordered mine from baby online. I designed it by making a collage of my ideal dress and they made it. I received it really quickly, it turned out great, and it was really inexpensive ^_^

I order my online after trying it on at David's Bridal. Also if you order through the American Airlines online shopping you get 3 miles for every dollar you spend. I was hoping to have enough miles to get to CA but no luck so we are saving up for a trip next year.

My sister ordered hers through a seller on Ebay for $150 and it arrived in two weeks, pristine condition and it looked really nice. Plus the fabric was forgiving, not a common trait in wedding gowns. She had to have it altered about four times though because she was 6 mos preggo at the time of her wedding.

I've heard bad things about milanoo.

Good Morning America reported on what you might get for that deep discount

Don't purchase a knock-off dress. The fit, cut, and over all quality of the dress are going to be a disaster.

Davids bridal online yes you can return some of the dresses. Check the same dress on amazon, it comes from davids but can be returned. Just watch the return policy.

Buy a dress online threads are like Hayley's bat signal.

Knock-offs are definitely not a good idea. Where ever you are looking at dresses online make sure to check their contact info, as people before have mentioned and their return policy. If there is no return policy, do. not. buy.

You could check out bestbridalprices.com, I've heard good things about them and they have a "real" store here in US. I don't think they do knock offs either.

Hayley that is funny!! And cute!! Thank you all for your responses! I am so excited but want a nice dress and do not have many options for wedding dress shopping on a budget here! I am going to visit Davids and go from there. I really want to feel the dress and see how it makes me feel before the purchase. I hope I can find one there and there aren't any problems. Thanks again for making me feel so welcome! Congrats to all the brides to be too! Its a great time!!
