Has anyone ever actually shortened their wedding gown to wear later?

I've heard plenty of people say over the years that after the wedding they would shorten their wedding (or bridesmaid) dress so that they could wear it again. Has anyone ever done that? I'd love to see photos! I was thinking of doing it myself, but I'm having trouble envisioning how it would turn out. Mine is the Katie May Poipu, so I don't know if it would show way too much skin if it was knee length, but I hate the thought of never wearing it again!

    My girlfriend shortened it and wore it on her 1 year anniversary it came out beautiful! Just go to a good seamstress! Smiley smile

    I think with that sort of dress you would want to do a hi-low style, maybe.

    I had a friend that dyed her wedding dress so she can wear it again. That would work for your style probably.

    I know two people - one shortened hers (it was a very non-traditional dress to start and she'd bought it with the intention of shortening it) and one dyed hers - she's an opera singer and uses it as a formal gown for concerts!
