Has Anyone Done the Personalized M&M's?

I was thinking about my sweet table last night. It is a combo of Italian pastries and a candy bar. Naturally, I will only put fall colored candies on the buffet. When I was thinking M&M's, I checked out the personalized website. I loved the brown, orange and glitte gold. Of course, I would put the motorcycle on one of them. But then I saw my FH's fave team...traitor that he is...the Jets. I would love to put out Jets M&M's on the buffet. Has anyone done it? Is the $11.99 worth it?

Thanks in advance!

I placed the minimum size order for my oldest daughter's first birthday. We had a photo on them. Very cute, but definitely not worth the price. I thought about doing some for the wedding, but I was thinking without the printing and just do colors.

We're doing them. We ordered enough to do about 50 favors (alittle shy of 2 oz each/the heart shaped tins) & ordered 12 of the 7 oz bags. 8 personalized pink, gray, & white and 4 non personalized hot pink bags. Came to a total of $130.00 w/ shipping. We are going to have the personalized m&ms carefully placed right so you can see the messages through the clear top of the tin. Hopefully people will notice. If not we enjoyed the thought!

We are doing it for our wedding favors. They will be fuschia, hunter green and silver. Haven't decided on what to put on them yet. We are all about the M&M's. It is also going to be our wedding topper.

My friend had them personalized at her wedding, but the main reason they splurged on them is because he proposed with pink "Will you marry me" m&ms...so of course..they had to have some at the reception.

Also, I just wanted to comment on something you said about the cost. You said something about $11.99 for a bag. Well, what they don't mention very obviously on the site is that the minimum order is like 3 bags, so you have to spend AT LEAST $36 on it. I could be mistaken on the minimum, but that's what it was when I bought them. I used a promo to get a 4th bag free, too. The bags are small and I was able to fill about 20 SMALL favor boxes with all 4 bags. That's it.

Thanks everyone. I love the ideas of those who are buying them. Since we already have favors, I am going cheap on this one.

Sometimes they do offer coupons. Search the net. Also my Father is a retired graphic designer and he said if they don't have your color you can get the PS # of the colors you are using and for no extra cost they will match them. We are going with these for our candy table. I do like Amanda's idea of buying a few and then mixing them with regular ones to keep the cost down.

I was going to do M&M's but they were just too expensive. Settled for jelly bellys. Lemon Lime and Grape crush. My colors are plum and chartreuse so it worked nicely!

@Crystals....Oh my! That incident had to be pretty interesting. I think I would have fell on the floor laughing. I hope they didn't make you pick them up.

    THanks for all the thoughts.

Jelly Bellys, Future Mrs. Lord, now there is an idea! Smiley smile Thank you.

Personalized M&M's are always a hit. One tip: You'll get a better result if you order light colored M&M's. Dark lettering will stand out and get noticed on the light colored candy. Dark M&M's will have WHITE lettering, but it's tough to read. Middle of the road colors will likely get DARK lettering which can be tough to read ... turning a fun moment into one of frustration.

The biggest challenge is getting creative with your message. You have TWO lines of text and only 9 characters on each line to make a statement of ... LOVE ... HUMOR ... SARCASM ... or possibly explain THE MEANING OF LIFE.

Unless you're getting these for someone who HATES M&M's or breaks out in hives when they eat chocolate, the M&M's will make a great impression and come up in conversations for years to come.

I wanted to do the colors of his NFL team, but the cost was not worth it. You could just do the colors. You can get something team oriented (for the table) if you want. I came up with a suitable alternate by purchasing an NFL team item to hang by the Cake Table to surprise FH. I will be doing something special for the Groom’s Cake to coordinate with that item.

We are doing the individual bags of personalized M&Ms. I already bought them. They're adorable. We waited until the company sent a 25% off coupon via email and combined it with a groupon. It came out to a little over $1/guest or $1/bag. Honestly probably the least expensive personalized favor I have found. Besides match books, and that's been the favor at the last couple weddings I attended so I didn't want to do that.

Edit: We bought 200 favor bags.
