Has anyone bought a dress online?

Emily, on May 26, 2010 at 4:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I was wondering if anyone has bought a dress online with success. I found one I absolutely love. It is really, really, really cheap which makes me think it's too good to be true. But I can't find another one I like as much, and it recently went up $100. Just wondering about other people's prices, success, and so on. My picture won't upload, so here's the site:

Make sure u look at the return policy and order accurately your size. Bad thing is who do u take it to when u have an issue? Risky i say

I should probably add I'm in the middle of the desert. Literally. There are no stores except a Rite Aid and a Wal Mart for over 90 miles. And that's Palm Springs where nothing is affordable. The Internet might be my only option.

When i got married the first time TEN years ago I bought my dress online I was very happy with it cost me 299 and regularly 1000 retail stores. It was even more pretty in person than on line. My only down fall was i didnt get it altered and I really wish i had because it was a little bit to big and would love for it to have fit perfectly but evil step mother insisted I didnt need to do things like that. SO my suggestion is make sure you get it altered

Good lord, did you look at the return policy on this site? You can NOT return your dress if it doesn't fit, if it doesn't look good on you, if you get it and decide when you see it in person that you just don't like it. And you have 24 hours to return it.

I bought my dress off ebay, completely customized to my size, for $150.00 (including shipping). I got it in about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE it! They did an increadible job! I couldn't be happier. Just make sure that if this is something you do that you absolutely get your accurate measurements; if nothing else, a little bigger is better than too small. I say, at a price like that, what have you got to loose because I know that if I went to any place around hear, I would have to pay close to 10x the amount to get what I really wanted.

I did. There are several sites where you can send your measurements and have the dress custom made. I'm very pleased with my dress and I got an amazing deal $96 including shipping!

I did! I ordered mine from http://www.cheap-wedding-gowns.com and have no regrets. I was impressed with the service and quality of dress. I got mine for $259.00 with free tax and shipping. I was able to send in my measurements and get the dress made to fit like a glove without the hassle and cost of alterations. I love my dress.

I will order mine from www.lightinthebox.com

My FSIL was going to order from this site you posted. I talked her out of it. Sorry to be a party pooper but:

    *Their return policy is crap.

*The dresses have NO reviews, meaning people have either not bought them at all, or are not satisfied enough to say so.

*The pictures in their site are of ORIGINAL DRESSES. As in, the ones they are copying. Nowhere on there are there pics of something they have made.

I would be very weary of getting something from them. I just want you to get something you are happy with that you'll be happy spending money on Smiley smile

I know lightinthebox is good. I have friends who have purchased from them. Some brides on WW have also bought from them and couldn't be happier Smiley smile

I hope you find something you like!!!!

My friend ordered one from http://www.dinnel.com/categories/Apparel/Weddings/

When I saw the wedding dress, I feel it`s amazing that you spend less money to get such a gorgeous one.

Just make sure you send in your measurements. I didn't and got a dress too small. But it was a good thing as I found a better deal on a dress I liked even more. Good luck!

I did it...3 times now! The first time was for my wedding dress. (thebridalgowns.com) It wasn't EXACTLY like the picture, but it was pretty close, and I love it (I also have a great seamstress whose doing all my alterations) The second time, I ordered 2 dresses for my bridesmaids (two different styles, suposed to be same colour) This wasn't a good buy at all. They were completely different colours, and not even close to what I wanted, or what the picture showed, and the dresses were different material too. Smiley sad bummer. But then I ordered 3 bridesmaid dresses (vipdresses or something) and I got them in on Friday. They're perfect! Perfect colour, all matched, I'm happy with them, lets just hope the girls like it. I say, go for it. Just be prepared it MAY not be exactly as you hoped. but good luck Smiley smile

The dress is Beth by maggie Sottero, you could try weddingbee.com or similar sites where people re-sell their wedding dresses.

I bought my ceremony dress from www.milanoo.com It was a little snugger than I expected, but for $150 I think I got a great deal. I was super happy with it. But I highly suggest trying on a similar dress to the one you want to buy online just to make sure the style works for you. Mine was a knock off of a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress I tried on but couldn't afford.

I ordered my dress on ebay and I love it. Of course I knew how the fit would be before I ordered it since I had already purchased a dress by the same designer in a very similar style but then changed my mind on the color. You just have to make sure you read the return policy etc. b/c some sites are alright and some are shady. By the way I am selling my first dress which was never worn it was a sample I bought in near perfect condition if you are interested at all, it's more of a fit and flare style in satin ivory the Wtoo Genevive. Here's a pic. I'm selling it for $500.

Http://www.houseofbrides.com/ =====>My co workers bought from here.

First, go to a local shop and try on the dresses. Pick the one you like and get the dress #, size, etc. Then visit the site and place your order.

Plus Size Wedding Dresses have been in vogue for many years. Once upon a time, more companies are people who really difficult to find the right clothes.
