Has anyone added sleeves to their Davids Bridal wedding dress?

Tara, on March 16, 2018 at 2:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I have a strapless mermaid dress that I would like to add sleeves too. Has anyone done this, or planning to do this?

I'm adding sleeves to a strapless ball gown from David's, but not doing it there.

I am adding unattached sleeves. No shops would do it . I finally found a seamstress onboard with what I want. Bare shoulders with while covering upper arms. Basically elastic with fabric made into a ruffle bell shape about 5 inches long.

Do you mind telling me why you are not doing it there? I am on the fence about getting my alterations there to begin with because I have heard horror stories, but none from the DB where I bought my dress.

I had sleeves added to my DB dress but didn’t have them done there. I had 3/4 sleeves added and didn’t like any of the options DB had to offer, they were about $30 cheaper than the ones I saw samples of at DB. This is the only picture I have so far but I had lace on the end too.

They are super expensive on their alterations! Plus, they messed up my sisters dress badly and wouldn't pay for their mistake.

My sister had sleeves added to her dress at David's. They did a beautiful job, but my mom told me they were super expensive and she would pick another seamstress next time just due to the price. I plan on having my David's dress altered somewhere else, but my alterations will be simple, no sleeves.

Do you have a picture of your sister's dress? I am looking at potentially using another seamstress; when my dress comes in I plan to get a few quotes and check reviews.

I plan on having drop sleeves added to mine, and since DB is 3 hours from me,I'm having a local seamstress do it,

I'm planning on having sleeves added to mine but, I've heard DB's alterations are expensive so I will be looking around for someone else to do my alterations.
